I've used only the smallest bit of this 4 bit set, but it worked exactly as hoped and efficiently dug a hole into the ground to accommodate a pole from which to hang bird feeders. I used it by itself with a 3/8" cordless drill but then put it on the end of a 10" extension and it ultimately dug a hole at least 16" deep. The bit is sturdy, easy to use, digs quickly, and makes quick work out of an otherwise tedious job. The bits are a tremendous value and will come in handy for a variety of landscaping jobs.     • Held Up Surprisingly Well Even in Heavy Clay Crawlspace Digging

I actually ended up using this KENDO auger drill bit set for a purpose well outside normal garden planting applications. I used the augers in my crawlspace to help dig out sump pump basins in heavy clay soil, and overall they held up surprisingly well considering the conditions. Clay is far more demanding than typical garden dirt, but the augers still managed to break up and remove material reasonably effectively when paired with a strong drill. The bits remained structurally intact and didn’t immediately twist or deform under the heavier load, which impressed me given the tougher-than-intended use case. They definitely sped up the excavation process compared to trying to do everything manually in a confined crawlspace environment. For softer soil or standard planting applications, I can easily see these performing even better. The reason I still consider these a 5-star product is because, while they weren’t perfect in dense clay, they were being pushed far beyond the kind of dirt and workload they were actually designed for. In normal garden soil, bulb planting, or landscaping use, they would likely perform extremely well. For the price and durability under abuse, they exceeded my expectations. ... show more

These were great with my 18v Ryobi Drill Motor. I planted 100 Muscari and 50 Tulips. Easy to use. 4 stars instead of 5 because the tips of these bits are a little dull. Also these can work into the firm ground like a a stake and you have to go in reverse to get the bit out. Overall pretty satisfied here ... show more

Save your back and your time—these are fantastic! If you have a big bulb-planting project, do yourself a favor and pair these augers with your cordless drill! They make digging dozens (or hundreds!) of holes insanely fast, easy, and almost fun. The variety of sizes means you always have the right tool for the job. The only tweak that would elevate these to absolute perfection is a squared shaft to prevent slipping in hard, compacted soil. These augers do good on small jobs. Certainly a good value for that. Haven't had an problems in the Florida soil. Hard clay may be a problem for frequent drilling, though. Don't have that issue here.

I was sitting on a beach one day and a family pulled up beside me. The "dad" had his Dewalt drill and an auger (like you see at the beach resorts) and proceeded to drill a hole in the sand for his umbrella. I decided then that I was going to do the same the next time. These augers are very well made and work great. I also needed to drill a hole in much firmer ground and it did great. I don't know how many uses I will come up with to have them but I know I will. They were a great purchase and I look forward to using them again soon. Hopefully on the beach! ... show more
