Bought these to dig holes for bulb and perennial planting in my tough clay and rock-strewn Colorado soil. I discovered that the level of success you have with these is entirely dependent on the power of the drill you attach them to. A weaker, less powerful drill just won't cut it, and the auger will stop rotating. The augers themselves are very well made and exactly as depicted. If they had a sharper point at the ends I'd give them 5 stars, as that would help a lot at the start of the digging process. ... show more

I have not had the opportunity to use these tools yet, but I can't wait after years and years of digging and digging with little shovels and big shovels. This will be a pleasure to use these bits there solid. They are heavy and strong. I don't think I'm going to have any problem using them this summer. I can't wait! I'm amazed at the value for the type of steel you'll receive. I do a lot of heavy drilling and construction work and these drill bits are nice-sized bits surprisingly large for the money I would say grab them before they go up. ... show more

Larger auger broke within 5 minutes of using it. Hit a rock and broke the weld causing the auger blade to twist and bend around the shaft. Very cheaply made stuff.
