The buckle is a thick plastic & has a slide lock to keep from unbuckling (I didn’t buy it for that feature, so I don’t care if it works or not) Has two dotted lines of reflection around collar, adjustable sizing (bought size large for a 60lbs dog). Extends to 25.5” & smallest is 20” in length. The chain pulls tighter around the neck when pulled which is ideal for escapees & pullers, I’ve finally found my dogs worst enemy. This is an excellent dog collar, it has a great fit and is very durable on my Shih Tzu. The appearance is pretty top notch and it is so easy to adjust. My dog never seems to mind leaving this on, being said I never leave his collars on for long.

I love martingale collars and this collar is well made, secure, and stays put, does what it's supposed to. My only complaint is that the chain part leaves a gray discoloration all over my puppy's white neck and chest. I've used other collars with martingale that didn't cause discoloration and I'm not sure why it's happening with this one. ... show more

I bought the same collar in the same size in 2021, and the one I just ordered was wider. Both size small. I had to return the new one. The Max and Neo website says sizing changed in 2024, so if you are reordering you might want to look at sizing changes there first. I preferred the old collar. My only regret about this collar is that I didn’t get it sooner. Works great for my very strong pitbull. Tried other similar collars that I didn’t like. This one has a clasp to easily take on and off. Loosens up immediately when you stop applying tension. Recently got this collar in and took it to the beach! easy to use! Pup responded well! I like the chain because he can hear when he’s getting to the end of the leash and can slowdown, turn around a look at me! Great queue for him!
