I ordered this to repair the fairing on my motorcycle after I dropped it and broke a large piece off. The plastic welder included a LOT of the metal binding pins in multiple configurations. I had ordered one a while back to repair friends car bumper and misplaced it. This kit is much more comprehensive. I did use some JB Weld bumper repair on the break, but honestly, the plastic welding would have been enough. One point of caution - if repairing a material that is thinner than a bumper avoid the urge to really seat it deeply. Go a little shallow and then use the flat blade to smooth out the S-shape area that is displaced and rises up. If the area is painted, try to mend from the inside. If part of a lower, unpainted bumper you can work from the exterior. Works pretty good.

My only complaint is that I wish I could cut the ends flush with the snips provided, I just used a grinder. The attatchment to smooth the plastic is a little awkward and a flat spatula type would work better in my opinion. Overall this is a great product to repair plastic and creates a strong bond.

I love this tool, and I don't say that very often. I dream of new ways to use this to reinforce and repair broken plastic bits. ' My only complaint, is that the paddle for melting doesn't work too great. It worked wonderfully for about 2 hours, then it stopped. I just use a cheap-o soldering iron to do the melting work, after I have installed the metal stitches with this tool. My only other complaint is, why did this tool not exist over a decade ago. So may automotive parts that I junked that could have been saved.
