Machine seems a little finicky at times, but it makes a consistent cup of Expresso I have 0 regrets buying this Expresso machine. I'm not sure if I was not following instructions exactly or not, but there have been times where the wand(to make froth) went wack for a minute and I'd have to shut the machine off then on again, but I have not had that issue as of recent. Basically, the wand would not work at all, or would spew out a tiny bit of water. It is entirely possible I was not fully following instructions. The instructions are kind of weird. It is obviously not as powerful as a 10,000 Italian Expresso machine, but it is definitely worth the price. I'd give this one a shot, but use it as much as you can before your 30 days are up. That should be a good test to see if yours is a keeper.

I am happy that i bought this espresso machine. It's very speed. In the begining it was making a huge noise when steaming the milk but it seems i didn't know how to use it properly. Now it doesn't make huge noise. I drink coffee every day. Somedays even 4 shots. Price of the machine would be already paid after 1 month usage. I don't know compare this with expensive machines since this my first espresso machine. But i am happy with the purchase

Definitely a step up from the Imusa's I've been buying every 6 months. The steam-wand does take a little getting used to. First, you have a water-container you can make four or five double-tall breve's before refilling. You do have to preheat before you brew. Two brew-cups are included - a single and a double, and the double brew cup is about 1/3 the depth of the Imusas, but being 20-bar, it extracts that 1/3 less grounds into an even fuller tasting espresso. The steam wand takes some practice (I've only brewed two breves (half-n-half) so far, and both cremas turned out OK in spite of the learning curve, pretty sure it'll do even better once I figure out the "sweet-spot". It cautions not to brew after steaming without a cool-down (over-pressure), so I brewed first, then steamed. Makes a breve faster than the Imusas too. Tips I learned from other commenters: Remove the water-plug from the bottom of the container before using.. :-) Press and HOLD the brew button for 3 seconds to manually control how much espresso to make, when your carafe is as full as you want it, press the brew button again to stop. One note: The power cord is about 3 feet, so the unit has to be placed close to an outlet, or get a 3' or 6' **20 Amp** AC extension cord. It has suction cups for feet, so it stays where you put it. This is a plus if you aren't used to using both hands to insert and lock the brew handle, or a minus if you want to move it around on the counter (I suppose you could put a thin plastic sheet under the unit of you want to slide it around on the counter). The weak spot in every "inexpensive" espresso maker is longevity (I've owned 5 now over 4 years), so I'll come back and update if/when this one quits - I make one double-tall breve a day, and the last 3 (all Imusas) struggled to last 6 months.. And I noticed in spite of inflation the cheap things are selling at $20-$30 less than they did when I bought them. One last - the MAttinata 'stainless steel" finish looks nice, almost "industrial", on the counter, but form follows function and longevity. I'll let you know, ya know? Two month update: Werkin fine! So far quite happy with it..

UPDATE: 4/10. After 3 weeks of use, the machine has not failed yet. The shots are consistent, provided you're tamp and measurement are the same if you're using the bottomless portafilter. With the pressurized basket, the output is consistent but the flavor is still better using the bottomless basket. Using the metal screen vs paper filter, there is no difference in taste or changes in crema. The crema is thin when using the bottomless filter, as compared to a higher priced machine like the gaggia or breville. But I enjoyed my Long Black and capuccino using this machine. It is a good beginner's espresso machine, UPDATE: 3/20. After a few days of using this, I put 2 Aeropress filters, one on top and one at the bottom and ground fine using my bottomless portafilter. It tasted better and less cleanup. However, I doubled the filters stacked together on top and nothing at the bottom of the bottomless portafilter basket. It produced a better crema and tasted best. I am waiting for my metal screen filter and will update for that. I received the item today. Tested it immediately and so far I like it. Initially I wasn't impressed with the espresso because pushing the buttons for either single or double shots the results were sour to taste and yield were small. HOWEVER, I read the manual carefully this time and found out to get longer shots, press and hold the single or double shot button for 3 seconds. This time it will be your control when to stop the shot. To stop, hit the button again. Another thing to consider is having a burr grinder. I have a Baratza Encore and recalibrated it to adjust my grinds finer. The portafilter size is 51mm so I didn't buy an extra bottomless basket since my previous one is the same size. After the adjusments, the espresso tastes decent but I still prefer my other machine. The steam wand is my favorite. It frothes nicely and heats faster than my old one. If you're into latte art, this is it. Overall I like the machine and hopefully it will last me a while.

This makes incredible espresso and seems like a high quality machine. Love the fact u get a decalcify warning when it’s time to do it. Love that u can clean the wand with the knob. Soo good. I do think the steamer is quite loud but who cares YUM
