I bought this light to replace an old dining room fixture that had seen better days. That fixture, I believe, was original to the house, so it had been there since the 1950s. I did have some concerns at first about hanging a modern LED fixture there, but these are not that expensive so I took the plunge. I'm really happy that I did. The light can be mounted in two ways - either to a conventional electric box in the ceiling, or simply attach it to the ceiling with drywall anchors or screws. I was able to get mine to work with my70+ year old ceiling box. Installation was straightforward and easy. The light fits flush to the ceiling with no gaps and it's really low-profile. As far as performace goes, it puts out plenty of light. The old light had been on a dimmer, and I bought a new dimmer switch because there were a couple of reviews where some people had trouble with the older dimmers. However, the light worked just fine with my existing dimmer - which was probably also 70+ years old. (I changed it anyway because it was old, and I had a new one ready to go.) I rarely need to use the light full-blast - it's typically dimmed down to around half. The night light feature might be my favorite thing with this light. It doesn't shine downward like the main light, it shines upward to the ceiling. This delivers a more diffuse, indirect light at night, and its color is not harsh at all. Even at full brightness it's suitable as a night light. In fact, if I come out to the kitchen in the middle of the night, I don't turn any lights on, I just increase the brightness of the night light, do my thing, and turn the dimmer back down when I leave. If I didn't have a ceiling fan in my kitchen already, I would put one of these in that spot. TLDR: I really dig this light. It's a great value for the money and it has such a low-key design aesthetic that it can literally go anywhere. The night light is awesome. I love this light, so funny my husband doubted it and me when I got it. He was like, this is really small, this is really flat, etc. lol. But after installation he admitted it's cool. I am always right! Lol. But it is great because my family often needs light in the hall outside my bedroom but the old light was too bright even on the lowest setting with a dimmer, plus is was a "boob-light" style lamp, god I hate those. Been slowly replacing ALL the lights in my house since I bought it and they were all that style. This is a great minimalist style, perfect for a hallway or where ever you don't want a statement piece lamp. And the nightlight setting is incredible. You can use that with a dimmer and on the dimmest it's invisible as if the light is off and on the brightest it's as bright as a day use lamp. I don't even switch it off the nightlight setting at all. We never need the light on the brighter setting since the nightlight can get pretty dang bright on its own. I live in a basement of a really old house, barely any sunlight down here, you can imagine how bad the lighting is…on top of that my roommate bought a trio spotlight from ikea that’s 3-5” tall (basement is small my 5’4” self stretches and can touch the ceiling) so ofc my boyfriend and I tend to hit the light sometimes. THIS LIGHT WAS SO EASY TO INSTALL don’t have a dimmer so I’m not too worried about it (honestly wish I had a dimmer would be nice since the night light is bright enough at night) I installed it during the day when the sun was beaming and we had a good amount of sunlight coming in, turned it on and it FELT like we had a TON of natural light…I’m so happy to finally have a bright area in the house. 10000/10 wish they made bathroom over the sink fixture like this😂 I kinda want this light all over the house but I also like my philips hue bulbs which btw Isn’t remotely as bright as this $25 fixture and I have 4 of them. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The globe of my laundry room light extended low enough from the ceiling that it collided with my cabinet door. I had to be careful opening the cabinet to access supplies, and it's a wonder I did not knock it off the wall or break the globe. But luckily, I was able to replace it with this truly flush mount light. I chose it because it was a great price and its design was one of the few options that would be compatible with my space. I did not realize it had such cool features in addition to being space saving. For example, it has three different light colors that you can choose between prior to installation, it's easy to select using a toggle on the inside of the mount. I chose bright white since I was planning on using in a laundry room, which is similar to the kind of light you would want in a bathroom so you can see everything! I'm using this light in a very small space, my laundry room is probably 6 by 6 but it can be used to illuminate room probably five times as big as mine as a single light source. You can also adjust the brightness from 0% to 100%. Additionally, it also has a night light feature, which is great because I actually do use my laundry room as a night light, always have. It's important to clarify that the night mode is different from the dimming mode. I ordered the style with black trim and that adds to the style. I tried to capture video of the light effects but I gave up, so you'll have to take my word for it. ... show more
