Used these on each joist and laid the board on the top of it. So far it seems to be shedding water without issue and there is no creaking of the board. It stuck fairly good on the treated lumber but had a couple of sections come up on the severely wet parts of the board. Putting fresh joist tape stuck without issue. ... show more

We are redoing our deck and replacing the old pressure treated decking with composite. We ended up replacing a lot of the joists as they had some rot on them. Many of the videos I watched recommended using joist tape to help protect the joists and provide a longer life. I ordered several brands and most of the seem pretty much the same. This brand was pretty easy to apply. I just rolled it out as I went down the joist, making sure to pull the plastic protection strip off as I went along. I then went back over it with my hand to smooth it down and make sure it was adhering well. Seemed to be adhered pretty well. As you can see from the picture, it did a great job of repelling the rain. You can reposition it if you don't get it down even on the first try. Just need to make sure it doesn't fall back on itself of another piece of tape as it is very stick and hard to pull off of another piece of tape. ... show more
