  • Excellent smoker for this. It really is underpriced if you ask me. Excellent smoker for this. It really is underpriced if you ask me.

This is my third one of these. Bought for my daughter this time. This is a very simple old school style smoker. I have been smoking food for over 45 years. I always used an old refrigerator, those of you who know, Know. I am a simple man. This little smoker is very well built for the price. The heating element is old style like old electric skillets used to be. They almost never fail. This smoker is sturdy, decent size for ribs, brisket and or pork butts . I use mine for smoked mullet. I dedicate a smoker to fish as any smoker you use afterwards will ultimately make every thing taste fishy. I highly recommend this smoker, it is a great brand and they stand behind their product. You can buy a 4 year extended warranty thru amazon for around 30 bucks . This is a game changer for those who worry about quality. When this one wears out after 10 years I will buy another. I love Masterbuilt products. Can't beat it for 163.00 in Amazon. This is 300 every where in my town at the big box stores if you can even find them during the winter. ... show more

  • Great way to start on the smoking journey
Size: 30-inch Analog
So far so good with this lil guy. I’ve smoked a couple of briskets some racks of pork ribs and beef ribs. If you have the patience and know how, this is a great starter unit, At least for me it is. It’s my first smoker, yes I’m a total noob at this, but it has handled very well every piece of meat I’ve put in it. As I keep learning this is a great tool to have. ... show more

  • Great for beginners! Great for beginners!
Size: 30-inch Analog
I have used this smoker 3 times so far and have to say there is nothing better then eating ribs and smoked chicken as soon as it’s done! My product came a little banged up and some paint missing around the door. The inside of the door was also a little dented. It works really well and it’s great for what I wanted. I have been a line cook for 7 years and always wanted to get into smoking. It is easy to use but not so easy to clean out. I use wood chips and the burn out after about 2-3 hours. I don’t mind switching them out. I try to check the temperature every half hour to an hour and haven’t noticed changes. So far it’s working great! I would give it five stars if it wasn’t a little heat up when I got it. Would recommend for any beginner smoker like myself! It’s been about half a year now since I’ve started using and the legs keep coming off. Still love the smoker just be careful if you move it a lot like me. I keep it in my garage and bring it outside each time I use it. I use it at least once a week. I have cooked turkeys, beef ribs, baby back ribs, so many chickens, and sausages in it and never had any problem with any of them. I use a digital thermometer and the smoker is always at the temp that the built in one says. ... show more

  • Good smoker for the money
Size: 30-inch Analog
Really like this smoker. Heats well and distributes the heat and smoke well. You have to open the door to fill the wood chip tray (I’ve seen others where you there is a drawer so you don’t have to open the door) but other than that I am satisfied and would buy it again. I bought the cover too which is nice quality also. ... show more

  • Not bad for the price. Not bad for the price.
Size: 30-inch Analog
This is a great little smoker. I love it. Seems to be well insulated. Not like the first one I purchased that was just basically a tin can with a heating element in it. One problem it does have is since it's not digital, the heating element is like one that I have for my electric skillet except that the adjustment gauge isn't marked for any certain temperatures. Just shows which way to turn it up or down. Of course I already about knew this by reading the earlier reviews on it so I just got it to the correct temp. I wanted to cook at and marked the dial. Problem solved. I also noticed that it didn't create very much smoke. So I modified rack that holds the wood chip tray so that the tray now in contact with the heating coils. It makes a lot more smoke now. update : I had noticed that the paint in the gap between the unit and the door was starting to peel when ever I used it. I just got finished using my smoker for the 5th time and noticed the paint that was peeling started to stick together. I usually smoke around 225°. I use a double probe grill thermometer with high heat alarm so I know the temp never went above 275°. I would have figured that Masterbuilt would have used a height temp paint on the unit. I'll just clean off the loose paint and continue to use the unit which is still working great. ... show more

  • Consistent, Reliable, High Quality Consistent, Reliable, High Quality
Size: 30-inch Analog
I get the exact perfect results every time I use the Masterbuilt electric smoker. I have used other smokers and styles (Traeger included), but the consistent perfect smoke and cook , I get from the Masterbuilt analog electric smoker, is important. The water pan in the bottom keeps the meat from drying out as fast, and since this uses a convection smoke circulation process (not a forced fan) it keeps the meats flavors in the smoker and in the meat. My perfect RIB weekend is "Smoke for an hour, wrap the ribs then cook 3 more hours at 190-200 to get fall off the bone tender perfection." I always wrap all the racks with foil before I start, to get the most consistent heat and flavor. Vegetables should be wrapped with only 2 small holes in the foil, from start to finish to keep a light smoke on the veggies. *One key thing to keep in mind when your using this smoker is the bottom rack that is closer to the heat will cook faster since it is a hotter temperature due to being directly above the heating element. The middle rack is a slightly lower heat and the top rack is a slightly lower heat than the middle rack. I use this to my advantage by putting the faster cooking appetizers, burgers and bratwurst on the bottom, and the larger meat like ribs and brisket on the higher racks. Masterbuilt has a 5 rack analog smoker just like this 3 rack unit, that has even more smoking/cooking square inches. Enjoy using this type of Masterbuilt smoker to create wonderful tasting meats and vegetables, I know I have enjoyed my first Masterbuilt analog electric smoker for almost 10 years, and so has everyone in the family. I wanted to get a new one since my first 5 rack Masterbuilt smoker needed the electric element in the bottom replaced, so my family bought me a new Masterbuilt analog electric smoker, while I got replacement parts for the older Masterbuilt. Side note, you can repair these smokers and not just trow them away, bonus! River country 101 has replacement parts if your interested. Quentin. ... show more

It was very easy to put together with myself and my aide. We have cooked baked ziti, string beans and sweet potatoes the first day we got it. Absolutely love this product. He has named her Ma$. We added cinnamon, orange peels, and vanilla to the apple wood chips and the food is amazing.
