(13 mm) diameter double locking shackle is 8 in. (20 cm) long and made of hardened steel, offering extra resistance to prying, cutting, and sawing. The disc key cylinder prevents picking.. I have french doors. I wanted added security. put this right over the handles and you have a perfect fit and a fail safe security device. it is a solid piece and will hold those doors in place and prevent entry. this is an alternate use that is very clever and effective. just don't lose the keys!

The lock is very sturdy, and works exactly as I need it to. The biggest flaw is that it is heavy, and the attachment to have it attached to my scooter doesn't work for me. The directions are vague to begin with, and the plastic piece doesn't really fit my scooter. Plus, the lock doesn't appear to fit sturdy in the attachment piece. This lock earns its rankings based on it's price. I would recommend this lock for anyone who can store their bike inside overnight and needs a lock for going to the store, out to meet friends, etc. While strong enough to stop passing issues this will not stop someone who really wants your bike from taking it as it does not have the fortitude to stand up to bolt cutters.
