Love this. Great for a beginner

I like that this came with an extra battery. The batteries did come with a charge but I decided that it was best to fully charge them both before I did any testing. Charging took about an hour for each battery. The battery charger is a single bank type charger. It would have been nice to be able to charge two at the same time but the addition of an RCA cable to run to my external power supply makes up for it. The body profile is a no nonsense all business 22mm cylinder. Curves and arcs are nice for appearance but sometimes it's a bit too much. This is nice and plain and gets the job done with plenty of power at the end. My needle cartridges fit really well and I didn't have a problem putting them in or pulling them out. The LCD display was nice to have on the side as opposed to some that have it on the top. The power and voltage adjustment buttons are a bit small but are easy to manipulate. It could be an issue with someone who has larger fingers. I was overall impressed by the power, look and feel of this one and would definitely recommend it since it comes with everything you could need.

This tattoo pen kit is fine for beginners, and for more advanced users, as well. However, it's not perfect, and I have a few minor issues with it. The tattoo pen is very nice, and has a fat grip (my preference). The grip can be made even fatter, easily, simply by using some grip tape and folded paper towel. The pen runs very smoothly, but becomes very noisy right around 8.5volts, which was a bit surprising, given the price of this pen. It has a working range (with the battery) of 5.0v-12.0v, which is nice, and has the ability to also run on AC power (simply swap caps, and connect to an AC Power Supply unit with foot switch... not included). With the AC setup you can run as wide a range as your power supply will support. The stroke is adjustable, going to 3.0mm, not really very impressive. However, I should point out that this particular pen has become popular for permanent makeup, and if that's your thing, the limited stroke length may not be an issue. The pen has an excellent digital LED readout, along with a more challenging 3 button operating system ("+", "-", and "on/off"). I say challenging since the buttons are really, really small. To use with AC power you simply unscrew the top cap, remove the battery, and replace the top cap with another that has an RCA jack. This will mate with a standard RCA plug clip cord. Also included in this kit: 10 decent needle cartridge (5 liners, 5 shaders), 20 ink caps, a single pair of black latex exam gloves, a single roll of narrow grip tape, a single sheet of okay quality synthetic tattoo practice skin, an da single sheet of tattoo transfer paper. The manufacturer tosses in a nice packet of decals, which is nice. A nice pen that could be even better. I like the feel of the pen, and I really appreciate the matte finish.

I am a beginner who has dabbled with self-tattoos for quite some time. I have a traditional set-up from a no-name manufacturer that has performed well enough, but I wanted to try a cordless device. This machine feels solid as soon as you pick it up. The aluminum body is beautifully machined and has a quality feel in the hand. The LCD screen is bright and easy to read. Once charged the setup is much easier than a traditional gun and the twist needle depth lets you conveniently set it right and go. Traditional motor noises don't bother me, but to some it's really annoying, this is so much quieter and there's a real smoothness to the way it feels. I have only been doing some practice lines on artificial skin which isn't a great analog, but so far, the machine lays a consistent line and even has enough power to drive the shade mags without any hang-ups. I'd always suggest professional guidance and adherence to safety but if you have experience with traditional machines, this is a walk in the park and allows for you to easily bring your gear anywhere.

It’s a great tattoo kit for beginners to practice with. It fits comfortably in your hand, it’s not too thin where it gives you too much play and it’s not large enough to make it uncomfortable to hold. I really loved holding it. I completely charged it and practiced for about 2 hours and it was still showing over half full on the battery display. It left nice clean lines (the grip was great for controlling them) and also did well shading and color packing. The only downside is the price, it may be a little too expensive for beginners to invest this much into a beginner kit and professional tattoo artist will probably use much more expensive equipment. (I’m not a professional artist. I do not tattoo live skin and only used this on fake skin)

I'll say this upfront. I like Mast. As such, I am probably biased to give his a better chance. So far, this has worked just as I'd hoped. It runs smoothly, feels good in the hand, and (with the second battery) lasts as long as it needs to. It is smooth enough for a beginner, and powerful enough for a pro. And, the price is definitely right.

The tattoo pen kit is great for beginners getting into tattoos. It is great for outlining. It has 2 replaceable batteries when needed. The kit comes with everything you need to get started. The pen feels steady in your hand when using.

the machine itself looks and feels pretty nice, is not heavyweight or big, ideal for small or medium hands, and the vibration is soft and even, the kit comes with almost everything to start just need a few extra things and you are pretty much set, this machine can do anything you throw at it.
