I received the Mason Pearson brush and found it to be authentic. I read some reviews that stated there were some fakes out there. Considering this brush was the same price at Nordstrom, there wouldn't be any reason to do that. The brush reminds me of one I owned as a child, with boar bristles that are not too stiff.yet thoroughly get the job done. I have also used this on my daughter - we both have long hair. We love it. My 5 year old granddaughter has a sensitive scalp and would always cry getting her hair brushed. This gentle brush does the trick. I left off one star because these brushes are not the same super high quality they were 25 years ago. I don't expect this one to last for a lifetime like the one I bought when I was much younger. Ok, I purchased the child-size version of this specialty fine/thin hair, mainly because of the price. It was worth every penny, it feels like it’s great for my scalp so hopefully will keep what hair I have too. Mason Pearson is the brand known round the world, yet the full size brush is simply too much brush for my thin, fine hair. This size, however, is perfect. It fits easily in my hand, brushes right through to the scalp and is gentle enough for my tender skin. Like its big brothers this should last a lifetime with just a bit of normal care. Daily brushing really wakes up my scalp and keeps my hair in much better condition than when I wasn't brushing much at all. ... show more
