I bought this for my dad to help ball up his yarn. It works nicely BUT you have to watch it and keep adjusting the yarn. It will slip and case it to wrap around only the top or bottom which cases it to tangle. I end up stopping it and unwrapping the yarn and starting again. It does help to adjust the yarn tension every once and a while. I still like it but having to stop and unwrap ever few second is a pain. ... show more

Overall my opinion of this little tool is positive and I would recommend it to anyone who has hobbies that deal with yarn. It helps make your life so much easier when you have a mess of loose yarn that you’re trying to get cleaned up. I honestly had my doubts that it would work very well at all when I got it but I was totally blown away by its ability to make a beautiful and perfect yarn ball without little to no effort on the users part. Once assembled, all you need to do is put the yarn thru the little corkscrew (much like you would when running a bobbin thread on a sewing machine) and then wrap it around the bobbin, plug it in, and turn the dial. The dial controls the speed that the machine winds your yarn at and is manually adjustable which I really like because you can slow it down if you have some tangles forming or you can speed it up if the yarn is loose and untangled and just needs to be wound up quickly. It helps you prevent more tangles or a mess. I like that the machine is small and fits in storage easily so it isn’t a huge burden in your crafting area when space and organization is crucial to your work flow. I also like that the tool is simple and doesn’t have a bunch of buttons and settings to worry about it’s just one dial, one function, and easy handling. Now some of the issues I had that resulted in my 4 star review are as follows. Firstly, my machine arrived with lots of scratches and paint peeling off. All of the issues are cosmetic and do not impact the functioning of the machine but this is something I found to be odd and less than a 5 star product if the quality of the paint used is low enough to be scratched and peeled before I even received it. Then the next issue is that the instructions it comes with seem to be translated from another language and are not very clear. Some words are misspelled or not words at all and the phrasing is not correct and is hard to understand. It took me a bit longer to set it up due to the unclear instructions, but once I looked at the pictures and just fir it together myself it really was easy to put together. Just skip the instructions if they’re making you confused it’s easier than it looks and once together I have had no issues. Definitely recommend this and as long as it holds up it will become a regular staple in my craft tools and I’m excited to have found it! ... show more
