Description

The Crane Creek 3 Person Tent offers 42 square feet of comfortable, reliable shelter that’s ideal for camping and backpacking. When its durable, seam taped polyester fly is equipped, this lightweight tent becomes fully waterproof without sacrificing air circulation. Additionally, the tent's vents can be propped open for ventilation if heat builds up inside the tent. The Crane Creek is equipped with two large, D shaped doors for easy access, and two spacious overhead vestibules that provide plenty of space for storing gear. Inside, you’ll find a seam taped floor to prevent leaks when conditions get stormy.

  • Built to last.
Pattern Name: Tent Style: 2 Person Tent
I ordered this tent as a replacement for the Marmot limelight 2P that I have been using now for over a decade. While my old tent is still worthy and in service, I felt it was time for a new one. This version is a welcome upgrade of my original. The quality is exceptional, tape job on the seams are spot on, the zippers are solid and open / close effortlessly. The best improvement is a second door and a second vestibule ( slightly smaller than the main one). Everything about this tent is solid and well worth the carrying weight. If it is anything like my current model (and I suspect it is) it will hold up to strong winds using the provided guylines and will stay high and dry in the heaviest rain. The only complaint I have ( if I can have one) is it only comes with 4 guylines and 6 tent stakes. I like to personally use more, but it is sufficient for most situations. I recommend this item without reservation. ... show more

  • Not Ultralight, but great Backpacking Tent!
Pattern Name: Tent Style: 2 Person Tent
Took this for a 3 week, 150 mile backpacking trip. Still feels brand new. Used it every night. If you're more concerned with a reliable, comfortable tent - this is a great backpacking tent. By breaking up the items into their own stuff bags, I was able to easily fit the tent, footprint and stakes inside my backpack. Only the poles had to be stashed on the side of my bag. It's not ultra light - but it withstood wind of up to 60mph (with the guy lines staked out and all stakes having rocks on top of them) on the top of a mountain. Also held up well in snow, light hail, and lots of thunderstorms. Never got wet inside, even with sideways rain. The 2p comfortably fit myself and my gear completely inside. The two doors and vestibules were nice - would keep my pack in one vestibule in good weather, and use the other as my door. Enough room to stretch, change clothes, roll out muscles, and generally be dry, warm and comfy. Private and not transparent. No condensation. Leave the rain fly off on warm, dry nights for a great breeze. Best part is by the end of the trip I could set up and break down the tent in about 2 minutes by myself. In bad weather or emergencies, this is a great feature. Tent stakes did bend fairly easily in rocky ground like most aluminum hook stakes, but still work. That's the only damage I managed to inflict on this tent. ... show more

  • Grommet grenade
Pattern Name: Tent Style: 2 Person Tent
Amazing tent, kept me dry and had enough room for myself and all my gear. Was easy to set up but i had a lot of issues with the zippers snagging everything. Unfortunately on my first go with it i was setting it up and one of the grommets for the poles blew and the tent fell over. Was able to finish the weekend without it but i feel its necessary to have. ... show more

  • Best tent I've owned
Pattern Name: Tent Style: 3 Person Tent
I got the 3p which fits a double sleeping pad and a double/queen sized sleeping bag and so I have a bit more room to move around. I like that there's a door on both sides so there's no stepping over each other. And when the rain fly is on there's a good amount of "porch" storage space for shoes and keeping your gear dry without having to take up space inside the tent. The pole is an X design which is really easy to set up. Overall it's the best tent I've had and I'm planning on keeping it for well over 20 years ... show more

  • Great quality!
Pattern Name: Tent Style: 2 Person Tent
Fantastic quality. Have used for multiple camping trips! It’s a tight fit for two people so definitely need to cozy up but it’s very easy to setup, it’s been through quite a few rains successfully and generally cozy! This may just be me, but I also love the green color, the sun coming through is so beautiful! There is an option to ventilate well but if you want to stay warm, it’s easy to bundle up and retain your heat! ... show more

  • Great 2 Person Tent
Pattern Name: Tent Style: 2 Person Tent
This is a great backpacking tent; I got the footprint, too, which isn't included in the price (it provides good tent tub protection and is virtually weightless). The tent itself is wonderful for one person; snug for two but acceptable. Without the rain fly the tent is 100% well-ventilated and great for stargazing at night. With the fly on, the change in ventilation is huge, but it works well in common rainstorms (it goes on and off in a snap). There are two small pockets inside the tent, along the tub, for phone storage, etc. (also available on Amazon is an MSR Tent Gear Loft for use inside the tent. Its a nice addition to the tent interior and is virtually weightless). Overall, I love this tent and think the value to cost ratio is good. Without the rain fly its actually super light (the rain fly adds a full pound). ... show more

  • Excellent tent
Pattern Name: Tent Style: 3 Person Tent
Well built, easy to put up and take down. A perfect choice for 2 people and their stuff. Seams are well sealed, good zippers, and a user friendly stuff sack. Some may consider that a small detail, but I own several other tents including a high end four season tent, and you need to be an engineer to fit all the components back in the sack! Not a problem with this tent. The poles are durable and it does well in the wind. I'm certain you can spend a lot more on a lighter, fancier tent for backpacking, but after several trips afield, I feel I got plenty of bang for my buck with this tent. Looking forward to more adventures with this as my shelter! ... show more

  • Pretty decent
Pattern Name: Tent Style: 2 Person Tent
Just purchased and used for two nights in Everglades National Park. Pretty hot and humid fall weather with milder evenings. I did experience some condensation trapped in the outer lining at dawn. Overall, it is a really good tent. Lightweight and easy to pack with fast setup. I plan to use it when I eventually kayak camp out in the back country remote sites. You do need a footprint with this tent. The bottom is really thin and will probably tear/puncture if pitched unprotected on anything other than clean sand. ... show more
