  • Excellent Edition to the Series.
My first Mario Kart game since the Mario Kart 64. Love the game and the huge roster of characters and creatures. I also love the open world exploration nice for winding down after a long day of work. Love that most characters have like 6 different costumes you can hunt down in free roam. Mario Kart World has the best version of Rainbow road. 9/10 Great Game!!! ... show more

  • Worse than 8 Deluxe in nearly every meaningful way
If Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is like a well-oiled machine, Mario Kart World is like trying to ride a scooter through the mud. The gameplay is not nearly as tight, mini-turbos do practically nothing now, and it feels like they completely overhauled the mechanics to be less snappy and more floaty. 150cc feels like 100cc in MK8. Classic Nintendo to ruin a perfectly good thing for no reason. ... show more

  • Mario Kart World is awesome!
Mario Kart World is awesome! From the graphics, to the new style of racing and the free roam racing this game has it all. I don't understand why people are complaining about the race tracks. If you like the old style so much play Mario Kart 8 then. I love it and I can't wait to play all the race tracks! ... show more

  • Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World
Incredible Gameplay and Presentation, but the Price Is Hard to Justify Mario Kart World for the Nintendo Switch 2 is a visual and technical leap forward for the franchise—there’s no denying that. From the moment I loaded it up, the improved visuals, smoother frame rate, and vibrant new art direction immediately stood out. The tracks are gorgeously designed with dynamic weather effects, branching paths, and more interactivity than ever before. Characters are more expressive, the animations are fluid, and everything runs silky-smooth on the Switch 2’s upgraded hardware. Gameplay-wise, this is classic Mario Kart with a modern twist. The driving mechanics feel tighter and more responsive, and the kart customization system has been expanded in meaningful ways. The new "World Tour" mode, which lets you race through real-world-inspired cities in a global circuit, is both innovative and addictive. It gives the game a fresh, globe-trotting feel that keeps things exciting from race to race. Online functionality has also seen a major upgrade. Matchmaking is fast, lag is minimal, and the ability to race in dynamic, real-time events against players from around the world adds a new level of competition. Local multiplayer is still just as fun, and the improved split-screen performance is a welcome touch for couch co-op fans. There’s also a huge selection of characters—some returning favorites, some new faces—which adds great variety to each race. And the selection of power-ups is better balanced than in some past games, which makes races feel competitive without being completely chaotic. So why 4 stars and not 5? Simply put: the price is too high. Yes, this is a flagship Nintendo title, and yes, it’s incredibly polished. But at launch, the cost feels excessive—especially when there are optional extras like a deluxe version, season pass content, and cosmetic microtransactions on top of the already premium base price. For casual gamers or families on a budget, it’s a tough sell, even though the game itself is undeniably excellent. If Nintendo had included more bonus content upfront—or priced it closer to other AAA titles—it would be easier to justify. As it stands, it feels like you’re paying a bit too much just to get the standard experience, and it’s clear more monetization is baked in for the long run. That said, if you're a die-hard Mario Kart fan, you'll absolutely love what Mario Kart World brings to the table. It’s packed with content, beautifully made, and a ton of fun to play solo or with friends. Just know going in that you’re paying a premium for the experience. ... show more

  • Doesn't let you play the tracks
Game forces you to do intermissions online, for a game pricier then 8DX this is unacceptable. Play that one instead.

  • Overpriced for what it's truly worth, yet still a worthy entry in the series
Bought this separately from my Switch 2 because there were no more bundles left where I got them. An instant minus 2 stars for the price, because this isn't worth $80, no matter how much anyone from Nintendo wants to justify it. The P-Switch missions are mostly repetitive, and borderline on either being too boring, or being too extreme, having a few balanced challenges here and there. The GP is pretty much the same as any other Mario Kart game, except you have the new intermission tracks, which, to me, add a new level of entertainment and fun, but this lacks a mode where the game could be played in a more classic way. The Knockout Tour is the most attractive new feature due to its chaotic development, and how fun and challenging it feels to reach the end on 1st place. It's not as easy because the items are disgustingly unbalanced. Somehow, at some point, the bot racers get blue shells and lightinings galore; I got struck with 4 blue shells in one race (Knockout Tour and GP), and only won because was just on 50cc at the time, but it gets so much worst! In my first Knockout Tour, I got struck with 6 red shells, of which 4 of them kept me stuck in one spot, and this is offline, because I don't have NSO and generally don't play online. In one race alone I also get struck with 3 lightnings too, and that was on a GP race. It's true the game is full of content, and there is a LOT happening around with 24 racers and many hazards around doing their thing, but this game somehow feels empty. Free Roam constantly puts me to sleep since I've already cleared plenty of P-Switch challenges. Costumes are fun to track down, but fill up your menu screens with lots of boring outfits among fun outfits. I Would have loved to see tanuki Mario again, but no, he gets regular outfits. And what is it with Daisy being the only character that gets an actual swimsuit? But all that aside, the music is really good, the sound effects are as well, the controls are pretty tight and responsive, but there's the confusion about this game running at 120fps on the Switch 2's 120hzs screen, but it doesn't. It runs at 60fps, which is very good on its own, though I have felt the game responding quicker to inputs on handheld mode. Also, the HDR is a mess. Thankfully there are guides on how to get the best of it. Overall... I would not recommend this game too excitedly, considering everything mentioned. It's good, but not the best, and definitely not worth that greedy price tag. ... show more
