This kit is an excellent setup for anyone looking to get into the podcasting game, streaming online, or really any other form of audio expression, while on a budget. The kit comes with the PD200x Microphone, the G1 Neo audio interface, an all metal boom-arm, an XLR Cable, and a usb-c to usb-c/a (the cable has a little adapter at the end of it to adapt to USB-C or A connections). Below, I'll breakdown each major piece of the kit. PD200x Microphone: The mic itself is incredibly light, but its build quality is still excellent. The body is metal, which makes it nice and sturdy and more durable if dropped. For sound quality, this mic is tough to beat at this price point. The sound is crisp, warm, and full, and it really brings out the detail in your voice. It can pick up a good bit out outside noise, however, so do be aware of where you are recording, but the noise cancellation feature on the G1 can help with that. The mic has a volume knob on it that you can use to increase the mic's volume, and when you press the knob, it will switch to volume control for the headphones. When you press the knob a second time, it will allow you to control the mix of the mic and headphone volume together. There is an LED ring around the volume knob the lights up to indicate to you which volume setting you are controlling (i.e., mic, headphones, or both). The mic also has an LED ring that wraps around the body, just under the foam capsule, and the color of the light can be changed with the press of a tiny button on the back with a sun symbol above it. The lights can be changed to a large variety of colors, including a "breathing" mode that slowly pulses the colors. There is also a physical mute button on the mic that you can press to mute or unmute the mic. When muted, the LED ring around the volume knob will turn red. Careful with the mute button though, because it is a physical button, you will hear the click sound before your mic mutes when you press it. I would just use the mute button on the audio interface. The mic has both XLR and USB capability, but since this kit comes with an audio interface and XLR cable, there's almost no reason to use the mic with USB, unless you're recording on the go. Finally, the mic comes with a plastic shock mount that helps keep the mic from vibrating or picking up noise when moving the boom arm. The Shock mount has the mic stand or boom arm adapter attached to the end of it, and the angle of the microphone can be adjusted with up and down via the small hinge on the shock mount. G1 Neo Audio Interface: This interface is truly excellent, especially considering its cost. The value is outstanding. Is it the most powerful interface? No, but does it have to be? No. For what it costs, you will ABSOLUTELY get super clean and clear audio that sounds like more expensive set ups for a quarter of the price. I host a podcast with my friend, and I have been using the G1 exclusively as my audio interface, and it has enhanced my audio quality significantly. It has some quirks that I will share, but after speaking with Maono's support, they are extremely receptive to feedback and are actively working on a fix for some of the issues. The G1 has RGB lights that you can change the color and functionality of, similar to the microphone, which is fun. The G1 features a gain knob, reverb knob, headphone volume knob, a mic volume slider (not the same as gain), and a music/headphone volume slider. The G1 also supports bluetooth, so you can connect a phone or whatever you want to it and play music, bring in a guest caller, whatever. The bluetooth has practically zero latency as well, which was shocking, since most bluetooth devices have some lag. The audio comes through super clear with bluetooth. What's really fun about the G1 is the voice changer feature. It has several voice effects that you can activate with the voice changer button, and a couple of them are hilarious to use for some added creativity to your streams. The G1 also has direct monitor so you can directly monitor your mic volume and gain with headphones, it has loopback so you can play audio from your computer back into the interface, and it also has Sidechain. Sidechain is super cool because it allows you to play music in the background of your show, but when you start talking, the G1 will automatically lower the volume of the music so you aren't having to talk over loud music or lower it manually. The G1 supports 48v phantom power if you have a condenser mic as well. The G1 also has four empty programmable pads that you can record any sound effect you wish onto, which gives you a little convenient soundboard. As for the inputs/outputs on the G1, it has one XLR input, a headphone jack, an aux out jack for playing your audio through a speaker, a usb-c port for connecting the interface to your computer or recording device, and a usb-c port that can be used with a power source to power the device. The G1 does require power to operate, and it is not battery powered. You can either plug it into your computer to power it, or plug it into the wall. Now for the quirks I mentioned. The first is quirk is with the sliders. When moving the sliders down to lower the volume of the mic and/or music, once you get to about level 2 to 3, the music and/or mic audio will just cut out instead of slowly fading out. It seems small, but it can be annoying when trying to fade your volume down without completely eliminating it. The second quirk is with the noise cancellation feature. The noise cancellation sounds like it has a noise gate on it that is a little too strong, so it has a tendency to make your voice clip or sound digitally altered by cutting off certain vocal sounds. It is effective at cutting out background noise, for sure, but almost too good. It cuts too much of your actual voice. I reached out to Maono about these issues, and they were very receptive to the feedback. They let me know that they are aware of the noise cancellation feature issue, and they are actively working on a fix for it. I am huge fan of the Maono brand because they do genuinely stand behind their products, and they are so receptive to feedback. They really want to make the best products possible at the greatest value possible, and I can respect that. Overall though, the G1 Neo is the perfect companion for one-mic setups, and it will definitely boost your audio quality. Boom-Arm: The Boom Arm is your standard boom arm, but that is not a bad thing. It's made of solid metal, and it has the right amount other than tension in the arm to support heavier mics. As I said, the PD200x is super light, so it can hold that easily. However, I also have the Maono PD400x, and that mic feels like it weighs ten pounds, and this boom arm holds it steady with no issues. In fact, I have another boom that cost me around $60, and it cannot fully support the PD400x mic because it's too heavy lol So, this thing is super strong, and it is the perfect size as well. My other boom arm is super long, which can make it tough if you have a small desk, but this boom arm is perfect for medium to smaller sized desks. Overall though, it is hard to beat this kit for the price. If you are looking to get into audio recording but you can't afford all the expensive "pro" gear, check this out. It will give you everything you need to get started. The G1 Neo is good enough to grow with you as you upgrade your mic overtime as well (if you upgrade it). Obviously, it is not perfect, but at this price point, you aren't expecting perfection. However, what you are getting is a seriously professional sounding setup that you can use to create your content. That is why I am giving it five stars despite its flaws, because the quality to price ratio is exceptional. The value makes it a tough one to pass on if you're starting out. Honestly, most people don't care what brand of microphone you have or how much it costs, as long as it sounds good and your content is strong, that's what matters most. This kit will help improve your content creation and boost your audio quality.

Very good product especially for the price. The microphone is great at focusing on wanted sound and the noise cancelling button actually works quite well. The arm that supports mic is of good quality. The only thing I did not like about this product is the voice changer application is not very good, it will not make you sound like any of the things it says.

The media could not be loaded. This audio interface/mic combo is a great value. I want to get that out of the way first because the low price excuses the few faults I've found with this device. My biggest gripe is the Voice Changing feature. It sounded so bad that I complained to the seller. To their credit, they quickly replied and asked me for audio samples. I sent them (they're the same ones I included in the video I uploaded). After they heard them, they replaced the unit with a new one. However, the voice changing on the new one was also laughable. For example, when you select the Girl voice, it just adjusts the pitch up to sound squeaky. Robot? Pitch is adjusted down with reverb added. I have another mic from this seller and the voice changing is magical, but possibly it's using an AI system that's not compatible with this model. My other gripe is the mute button. Well, there are two mute buttons: one for audio coming from your computer (game sounds etc.) The other mute button is for your voice. The one for your voice takes a few seconds to kick in. It slowly lowers the volume of your voice. It's not instant like the other mute button for game sounds. Now to mention the good stuff: + The sound quality is great in my opinion. + The control panel is very convenient for adjusting the volume of your voice and computer quickly and easily. Among other functions. + The LEDs are attractive and plentiful. This is a major thing that I appreciate on this combo. There's edge lighting, light rings, you name it. + You can use your own XLR microphone even if it requires "phantom power". Some studio mics need power, and there's a button on the control interface to turn power on to the mic. Tip: The sound input to your computer is the USB C port. There are two audio ports but they're for your headphones and whatever else. When you press buttons on the controller, a voice will say things like "robot voice" to confirm your selection. People will hear that unless you use the USB C port for your audio output.
