My father-in-law and I are attempting bee keeping this summer on our 35 acre hobby farm. These were recommended to us from an experienced bee keeper because of their durability and ease of installation. Boy am I glad we went this route. After we assembled our new frames, an adventure in and of itself, these puppies snapped right in! No wires to burry or pins to secure. These are best used with Mann Lake frames that have both top and bottom grooves. They are already coated with bees wax, so no need to purchase any or get messy applying some. I look forward to getting my bees this coming week and moving them into their new home. Caution! These do have extremely sharp edge and I did end up wit a few cuts on my hands, so be very careful when installing. ... show more

Fantastic foundation for bees. I couldn’t believe the generous amount of wax that was on them. When I opened the box, it smelled just like opening a hive. I’m excited to give these to my bees.

I always add wax to the plastic foundation before installing it into the hives. Can be done by melting it in a small crock pot and painting it on with an old brush or taking cleaned and cooled wax and rubbing it onto the frames. The bees will draw it out much better.

Fit just fine in my frames and I do like that it has the corners marked for the proper orientation. Definitely smelled like it belonged in a hive. Will buy again as soon as I need more.

I woud have given a 5 star but about 25 of them looked like they half assed putting the wax on and did not wait for it to dry before putting them in a box. the wax had dripped down to the bottom of the foundation and filled in all the comb so the bees can't use those without just building new comb on top. The side that was in the up position does not have wax on it anymore. ... show more
