Description

The premium Manfrotto 055 carbon fiber 4-section tripod delivers maximum rigidity from the lightest components. The 100% carbon fiber tubes and new Quick Power Lock (QPL) leg locking system maximizes the tripod’s rigidity and vibrational absorption, stabilizing camera equipment under any condition. The key feature of the MT055CXPRO4 is its 90° column, which allows the column to be extended vertically or horizontally. The horizontal column mechanism is housed within the tripod's top casting for compactness, but it is easily and quickly extended whenever you need it. Switching between vertical and horizontal column orientation requires no disassembly, and can even be done with a camera attached. The 4-section legs of this Manfrotto tripod make it extremely compact and ready for the road. The legs of the MT055CXPRO4 tripod are also fast to extend and adjust, thanks to the Quick Power Lock (QPL) levers. The special design of the QPL levers allows single-handed opening of all leg sections in one action. Intuitive and ergonomic leg angle selectors allow each leg to be independently and solidly set to any of the preset angles, allowing positioning freedom. A bubble level is built in to the top of the center column for precise framing. The bubble level rotates freely around the center column, so it can be positioned wherever it's easiest to see. The top casting of the MT055CXPRO4 has an Easy Link connector for supporting photo or video accessories (such as an LED light, flash, or reflector) on an extending arm or bracket, transforming the tripod into a practical mobile studio. Technical Specifications: Closed Length 21.26”; Leg Angles 25°/46°/66°/88°; 4 Leg Sections; Legs Tube Diameter 1.15-0.98-0.8-0.63”; Load Capacity 19.84 lbs; Maximum Height (with Center Column Down) 55.12”; Maximum Height 66.93”; Minimum Height 3.54”; Weight 4.62 lbs.

  • Fantastic Tripod!!!
Style: Alu 3 Section
Well worth the money! I won’t go into specs about the Manfrotto 055. If you are looking for these, simply look at the description. I did however, attach a few pictures comparing the size of the tubing of this model compared to a Manfrotto 190XB using a digital caliper. Huge difference that really isn’t shown by the photographs. This tripod is impressive to say the least. I already own a Manfrotto 190XB and have used this as my go to tripod for at least five years. I have gotten into night photography recently and have a few dslrs, but only the one tripod. Well, it was time to purchase a new addition to my gear. Impressed with the sturdiness, quality, and build of the 190XB, I decided to stick with the Manfrotto brand. I decided on the Manfrotto 055 based on my prior experience with Manfrotto, along with the many reviews available online. Upon arrival, I was instantly impressed with the build of this model. It is “supersized” compared to my 190XB. See the attached pictures. This product is built to top quality standards. A bit heavy of a tripod to use as a walk around, but if you travel by car, or motorcycle and only plan a few hundred yards walk to your subject, this shouldn’t be an issue. However, if you plan on backpacking this tripod, be ready for the extra weight of this model. It will wear you down within an hour or so. It is by no means small or ultra-lite. This is extremely sturdy and needs no extra weight to keep it steady on a breezy day. I am 100% Satisfied! Manfrotto isn’t cheap stuff. Top of the line for the money spent. ... show more

  • The best tripod ever
Style: Alu 3 Section
I have been looking for a quality tripod for years and have often looked at several models from Manfrotto. I recently made the leap and purchased this one, along with a fluid head and a carry bag (I'm surprised the bag was not included) and am very happy with my choice. I absolutely love the design, materials and build quality; these are all excellent. As for weight; you're not going to want to go mountain climbing with it. This model has features which I've never seen on any other tripod before, and I have been researching tripods for years. I simply cannot say enough good things about this tripod, and I also recommend purchasing the Manfrotto 502 Video Head MVH502AH and the Manfrotto MB MBAG75PN Tripod Bag to help you get the most out of it and help protect your investment from wear and tear. These three items came out to $454 which is more than I wanted to spend, but with this level of quality I'm sure it will last a couple of lifetimes at least. ... show more

  • Awesome tripod
Style: Alu 3 Section
I needed to upgrade to a more sturdy and versatile tripod as my Dolica Proline was too small to handle the larger zoom lenses that I use for bird and landscape photography. The tripod is huge compared to my Dolica almost twice the size. Extending the tripod is almost as tall as me ( 5'11" ) so I haven't had the need to extend the column. The legs are very sturdy and well constructed. However, there's some downsides as my old ball head was far too small and low. The width on the base is a little over 2" and the problem was when I tried to place the camera on the side for portrait shots, it wasn't able to clear the base. So I had to order the Manfrotto XPRO as it's a larger head, which happens to fits perfectly on the base. The other is its size and weight, at 5 pounds it's heavy and I tried hiking it with a couple time strapped to the side of my back pack. After a while you notice it and I usually take my Dolica when doing long hikes as it's barely noticeable. ... show more

  • Great Tripod!
Style: Carbon 3 Section
I have an old 055MF3 Manfrotto tripod and it's a good one. When I needed a second tripod, I looked into the Manfrotto 055 line again and found this. It's hard to find something original to say. It's a Manfrotto, solid as a rock, well made, and innovative. It's quite an advancement over the old 055MF3. Being able to rotate the center column with such ease is just an amazing piece of engineering. I had no idea what use I would have for the Easy Link connector. Then I bought a wireless shutter release. Now an inexpensive cold shoe is attached to the Easy Link. The camera part of the shutter release sits in the cold shoe, leaving the hot shoe on the top of the camera available. I know this costs a lot more than the aluminum version. Frankly, I could have bought the aluminum tripod, but I saved up for the carbon fiber and I'm glad I did. It's lighter, less susceptible to temperature changes, and just a better tripod. It was worth it to me. ... show more

  • Perfect
Style: Alu 3 Section
After getting shafted by Sky Mall (don't ever buy from them!) I bought from another vendor and got this in a few days' time. My second 055 - the first one has been through the wringer and one of the clamps broke. Instead of getting a replacement clamp I just bought a new tripod and will use my old one for parts when needed. Holds my Nikon D850 with 500mm lens nice and steady ... show more

  • Heavy, sturdy, high quality tripod
Style: Alu 3 Section
Not gonna lie, this is a heavy tripod. It is obviously high quality, and incredibly sturdy. I have ladders less sturdy than this tripod. However, the horizontal center post and large range of motion of the support legs makes for versatility in positioning on almost any kind of surface and any photographic subject. I highly recommend this tripod and anticipate many years of happy use. Just gotta build up my arm strength to carry it around I guess. ... show more

  • Use Professionally
Style: Alu 3 Section
Great tripod. Heavy duty. I never have and probably never will use the arm feature. Up and down is all I need. LOVE the leg locks. Super simple, super strong. Legs slide out quickly and easily. No tugging, or pulling, or 'breaking in.' I own 4, after upgrading from another brand. If you're looking to hike with a tripod, look somewhere else. If you're looking for a strong, heavy duty tripod that will stand up to almost anything. This is your guy. ... show more
