Mandoline does what it's supposed to do. I find it scary, just like every other sharp blade I encounter, but I use it with safety gloves and I've been able to survive. It is sharp and seems sturdy. Hopefully, it's durable and will last.

Sharp enough that you need to respect it — and that's the point
Color: Black
This thing cuts. The blades are genuinely sharp, and slices come out even and clean instead of ragged the way they do on a dull slicer. The adjustable thickness works as advertised. Fair warning, though: treat it like a knife, not like a kitchen gadget. It's sharp enough that you can catch yourself if you get careless, both while slicing and while washing it. Use the hand guard even when you think you don't need it, and be deliberate when you clean the blade — don't go reaching into soapy water for it. None of that is a complaint. A mandoline that isn't sharp is useless. Just know what you're getting and it'll do great work.

DO NOT TRUST SAFETY GLOVE

THIS IS DANGEROUS. Do not trust the safety glove. I bought a no-cry glove after this...Lucky for you I don't have a picture of the cut if gave me - I blew through 100 food safety gloves in a a couple of days as I couldn't stop the bleed. I've attempted to work though Amazon on getting this withdrawn. Its so complicated and I don't have time to deal with it - Hopefully you read this and save your fingers. I had bought one before with no glove issue. Now I'm actually terrified to use it even with the No-Cry glove (I'm a Personal chef and need this piece of mind to do my job!) DO NOT BUY with out the extra cost of No-Cry gloves
