Arrived as promised, nicely boxed up. No dents or scratches. All parts and manual in place. Great fit for 2016 Toyota Sienna XLE. 15 minutes to attach it and next 5 min to take measurements. Took it down, slide in rubber gasket/seal and put it back up. Yes, reviews are correct! plastic end caps do require some work but with some careful pushing and 2 maybe 3 attempts I did managed to "click" them on. Right after end caps my trusty Thule Atlantis 2100XT a.k.a 688XT went on top of my roof. Quick highspeed highway test and tadaaaa success no wind noises, box stable... Easy peasy. Great buy and it can handle up to 165lbs and so much $$$$ less from "the other guys". Since so many people had bad experiences with those end caps I decided to use just a few drops of hot glue to keep it more secured not that I needed it but it won't harm. I would definitely recommend. Warranty registration via website was super easy and it took me ~5min. UPDATE! We just finished our family 3 week road trip via I94 towards west and Up to Alberta in Canada and down south to I90 and back home all in all almost 6000 miles! Cross bars did a great great job of holding our Thule box in place - high speed driving, heavy storms, cross winds (Montana and Wyoming) they stood up to everything. Did I mentioned 2 teeth shattering braking emergencies due to deers and elks on the road ? Nope ... Anyway I am extremely happy to report everything end up ok and we managed to stop with our roof box and cross bars still holding strong. More details - our roof box was loaded with 4 duffel bags along with 1 portable camping grill and one camping stove.

I got these for my 2012 VW wagon, and they fit great. I probably fooled around too long measuring and rechecking everything for square and even, but that tends to be my way. I was a little concerned about the overhang, as the car is not too wide, but they are absolutely fine. There were reports and other concerns about strength and sound when driving. I have only good news to report. With the radio and the air off in the car at highway speed I can't hear these producing ANY noise over the road and the (small 4 cyl.) diesel. The fact that I usually am blasting tunes, and they really aren't noticeable at all. I did carefully fit the underside insert between the towers, and added a little more outside the towers to the end of the rails. There might be noise if you left that off. I took great pains to trim the underside insert outside the towers just short of the rail edges. If it was flush, or proud just a little bit, then the black end caps failed to engage and snap in securely. I have seen reports of people saying then fell out. Maybe that was the issue. I paired these up with a Malone folding Kayak rack, and they are strong, secure, and very easy to load and strap down. There was about a 2 MPG reduction in efficiency at highway speed (48 vs 51 on a section of road I use regularly), but all in all, a very good set of racks. I would recommend them without reservation.

Overall, I like this set of crossbars and I'm glad I bought them. They are sturdy and fit my 2018 Crosstrek as advertised. Installation is relatively simple, but it's easy to overtighten the bars. I used them with a cargo box holding about 75 lbs of weight and they performed without issue for a 1K+ mile road trip. The only problem is that when there is no load on top, they whistle very loudly at speeds over about 50 mph. There are rubber weather strips along the top and bottom that supposedly keep wind noise down, but they are pretty ineffective as far as I can tell. Once I put a cargo box on them, the noise subsided to a reasonable level.

I've used a few different aftermarket "aero" style cross bars that were designed to look like factory options (Subaru, Toyota). However, these were pretty low-quality options that were inconvenient to install & remove, and sagged under heavy loads (>50 lbs). I was seriously considering dropping almost $500 for a high-end brand-name bar setup (Yakima or Thule) for a Rav4, but decided to give these Malone bars a try first. I'm glad I did! They feel extremely sturdy - no wiggling or sagging at all. Initial setup is a little bit time-consuming, figuring out proper spacing and getting everything assembled for the first time. Installing the rubber strip in the bottom of the bar (prevents wind noise) is also a pain, especially if the strip is cold. It helps to wait for a warm day or bring it inside. But once initial setup is complete, installing or removing the bars takes just a few minutes - it's easier than any roof rack setup I've used so far. The bars themselves are thick aluminum with solid internal bracing - no flexing or sagging at all. I love the built-in Allen wrench, and it's nice that all four locks are included at no extra charge (unlike the fancier brands that charge extra). Wind noise is noticeable if you're paying attention, especially if the moon roof cover is slid back, but it's definitely not loud or obnoxious. Gas mileage differences, like wind noise, are noticeable but not extreme. Overall I'm really impressed at the quality, sturdiness, and ease of installation of these bars. Highly recommended.

I bought other rails for half the cost and when they arrived, they were cheap. My cousin found these, we ordered and put them on my car the day before our trip. I was very pleased! They worked great and we never needed to adjust them or check them. I used these for a 6 day canoe/fishing/hiking trip. We took the canoe off & on my 2018 Subaru Forester about 3 times. The rest of the time the canoe rode on my car. We drove about 800 miles total. After the trip the rails are still solid. I can grab them and rock my car (not rock the rails off my car.) The installation was not hard. I read the instructions and everything was very straight forward. I got 31 mpg with just the cross rails (no canoe). This is compared to the usual 33.5 mpg I would get on the same trip without them. My only concern was the canoe strap rubbing the anchor foot of the cross rail. (see photo) Surprisingly, it didn't damage or affect the anchor foot or the sturdiness of the rail! I have not needed to use special attachments for bikes, snowboards, etc. There is a groove to accommodate that but...maybe that's my next trip! ;)

I don’t write many reviews but this works so great I thought I should. I ordered this to use a new Thule cargo box for a long road trip. Putting it on was very easy for me (although I did put them on wrong the first time so make sure you see which way they go and don’t just assume-it was good practice for me though). It is very sturdy and the Thule fit great. I felt it was very quiet and almost never heard it at all and even the few times I did hear it there was very little noise.

First, I found it very difficult to install complete with rubber inserts that supposedly lower wind noise. My vehicle is high off the ground. It takes some time to equally adjust and tighten the pillars on their crossbars and then tighten to the side rails. But the kicker is now after all that adjustment and tightening you're supposed to measure, cut, then slide the undergasket in the underside of each crossbar while the racks are attached? No way. You can't get up on the cae roof to do that. So, now you have to carefully mark the location of each pillar on its respective crossbar, loosen everything enough to remove pillars with crossbars from the roof rails, tighten the pillars back up on the crossbars in the correct marked location so you can measure, cut and install the undergaskets. Now you have loosen everything again to reinstall everything back on the roof rails. What a pain! Also the roof pillars have a lot of concave crevices that catch wind Secondly, the end caps that go on the crossbars do NOT snap in place tightly. I found them barely hanging on after a 200 mile trip. Moreover, each end cap has a folding lid to allow access and installation of other carriers, e.g., kayak cradles, that mount in the top groove of the cross bars. The end cap lids constantly come loose and flip outward, so it's just a matter of time before something catches and rips those off. Thirdly, wind noise is not insignificant and very annoying. I would highly recommend a more expensive but more streamlined and durable product.

This (50 inch) is the perfect length for a 2025 crosstrek. it held up my harbor freight rack with maybe 250lb of items in it (I know, way over the rated limit). It does noticeably decrease mpg and is loud at freeway speeds though.
