Description

The Makita 5 in. angle grinder (GA5010Z) has a refined design at only 5.8 lbs. for reduced operator fatigue and an ergonomic soft grip provides increased comfort on the job. It includes a rotatable gear housing can be positioned every 90°. The GA5010Z is powered by a 10.5 AMP motor that delivers 11,000 RPM, with electric brake for maximum productivity. Labyrinth construction protects the motor with a complex set of channels, prohibiting dust and contamination. In addition, the protective zig-zag varnish seals the motor and bearings from dust and debris by creating a barrier under rotation. The GA5010Z is engineered for a full range of metalworking tasks and is ideal for welders, fabricators, masons, maintenance/repair, and more. By any means I'm an expert, this is one of the reasons why I think this review might be relevant. I only saw some videos on youtube, and knew what I had to do, basically my basement floor had many cement spills from a crappy job done in one wall, to try to make the floor even I had to some how remove those chunks of cement, I tryed every tool I had at home, but it was really slow process. I thought to rent a grinder, but than I saw this grinder the price was good enough to buy it instead of rent it. It is really power full, you need to go easy, I didn't feel it as heavy, really sturdy. Because it is so powerful, you really need to hold it strong, but be gentle on your job, so you don't make a hole on your cement. of coarse this is a lot to do with the grinding pad I was using for the job. Be ready for tons of dust, even with the dust collector that I purchased as well, get your self a great dust mask, cover your hair... So, I wish It could have a speed controller and that is pretty much it. The cost benefit is great, really easy to use, apparent great quality that will last. ... show more

As usual front makita ,this tool is not exception,good power with 10.5 amp for any grinding task.no vibration,and enough light ,no fatigue during long term use. I am disappointment with one thing,so the product description not to make clear the not lock on switch, the picture show a lock on switch, but this grinder model do not have this feature. wrong picture?, please fix that, thanks ... show more

What can I say,It is a Makita.I have been using these products for 30 years.They work great.I switched to milwauke a couple of years ago because they were lighter and a little more ergonomic,but I wore them out within 6 monthsa.I expect this grinder will last me a couple of years.I would rcomend this grinder to any one ... show more
