    • The best of both worlds...with an adaptor!
For my needs, I purchased the non-corded version (Makita 18V LXT® Lithium‑Ion Brushless Cordless 4‑1/2" / 5" X‑LOCK Angle Grinder, with AFT®, Tool Only) and it works great. A solution for the "X-LOCK" that uses special disks to attach to this "type" of Angle Grinder (corded or non-corded) is using an adaptor, gives me the best of both worlds. Found "Adapter for XLOCK to 5/8"-11 Thread Apply to Angle Grinder Cutting Blade Diamond Core Drill Bit Adapter + 5/8-11 Flange Lock Nut" and now I am able to attach "standard" disks to the X-LOCK system with this adaptor ($26). Get the nut to secure the disk if you decide on getting the adaptor. Yes, got the "Tool Only"...have plenty of Makita batteries. :) ... show more

    • Can only use XLock blades with this grinder buy something else.
Just bought this I'm sure it works fine but its got an XLock nut system thing instead of a regular nut to lock blades in because some schmuck engineer had to reinvent the wheel. Just buy a regular grinder and save yourself the trouble
