  • Should have got this a long time ago!
Style: Inflator, Tool Only Color: Teal
This works great, very convenient, compact and easy to use. Fast at topping off truck tires. Power on, connect to valve stem, it displays existing tire pressure, press + button to desired pressure, and pull trigger, and it automatically stops at set pressure. For about 3 psi it took about 20 seconds. Can use a zip tie to slip over the trigger which is what I did although holding the trigger would still be much easier than using a gas station air hose. It also comes with a presta valve adapter and filled my bike tires no problem, added about 15 psi in thirty seconds or less. I have an air compressor with a tank but this is so much more convenient. I haven't used it for a flat tire but it's so small and convenient to just put in the vehicle on a road trip and could easily keep adding 10 psi if you picked up a nail or something. Topping off 4 truck tires and two bike tires still had 4 bars on the battery. ... show more

  • Compact and Portable
Style: Inflator, Tool Only Color: Teal
I've been needing a portable tire inflator for a while now, and I finally decided to pull the trigger on the Makita DMP180ZX. I'm really glad I did! This little guy is exactly what I was looking for. First off, it's super easy to use. I just screw on the appropriate nozzle (it comes with a few different ones), connect the hose to the valve stem, and set the desired pressure. The pressure gauge is clear and backlit, so it's easy to read even in low light. Then, I just turn it on and let it do its thing. It inflates quickly and automatically shuts off when it reaches the set pressure, so no more overinflated tires! Another big plus for me is the size. This inflator is really compact and lightweight. It easily fits in the trunk of my car without taking up much space. Plus, the comfortable handle makes it easy to carry around. The built-in LED light is a really handy feature. It's come in useful a couple of times already when I've had to top up my tires at night. It's not a super bright light, but it's enough to see what you're doing. Overall, I'm really impressed with the Makita DMP180ZX inflator. It's easy to use, accurate, compact, and portable. The built-in work light is a nice bonus too. If you're looking for a good quality cordless tire inflator, I highly recommend this one. ... show more

  • Great little compressor, no trigger hold
Style: Inflator, Tool Only Color: Teal
This thing works good, was able to inflate a 265/70/r17 tire from 14psi to 33 in about 4.5 minutes. I like that it has a shut off psi level however it does not have a trigger lock function so you have to sit there and hold it down. I fashioned a zip tie to slide over the trigger that works good.

  • This works as described.
Style: Inflator, Tool Only Color: Teal
Great for topping off tires on bicycles, snowblowers, wheelbarrows, and cars. It is compact, lightweight, and simple to operate with the hose length provided. It shuts off automatically at the pressure limit you set. Seems accurate within 1 lb psi. I found it to be fast, not too noisy, and easy to use. I already own several Makita 18v tools and batteries, so I purchased the tool only. ... show more

  • If you're already a Makita battery person...
Style: Inflator, Tool Only Color: Teal
I kinda bought this on a whim. We just got a travel trailer and I like to keep a portable air pump around just in case. I already have one in our Durango, its a 12 V model that hooks up to your car battery. The wires are plenty long for the car, but would be a stretch to make it to the wheels of our trailer. I always bring my Makita drill along, if for nothing else than to spin the stabilizer jacks up and down. I also bought the Makita cordless wet/dry vac that I keep in my shop and bring to clean up when camping. So I figured this would be another nice item to bring in case I need to air up the tires. I just got it and am quite impressed. I walked around the garage and filled some bike tires (Schrader and presta valve), the tires to my pressure washer, and even the tires to my 50 gallon shop air compressor. This is so much more convenient than even just unwrapping the hose from my shop compressor to fill tires. Good Things: Light weight, fast, you can preset the target pressure you want to fill to, comes with Schrader valve, presta valve and needle valve attachments. Bad things (and I don't really think any of these are bad, just things other reviews have complained about) Its fairly loud (like just about any other compressor), does not have a brushless motor (not sure I even care since this is not a constant duty tool like a drill, saw or impact driver), you have to hold the trigger on until the pump reaches target pressure, there is no trigger lock. On that last one I really don't see what the big deal is. I think this will only run for 5 minutes before it needs to take a break because it's not designed for constant duty. And if that really bothers you, I see other people just use a velcro tie wrap to keep the trigger on. Since I just got this I can't comment on durability. But the build quality seems good. It filled my daughter's bicycle tires from 9 psi to 35 psi in about 30 seconds. I don't think this would be very good for inflating large items like air mattresses. I guess I can give that a try at some point. But for my use, this will be used a lot for topping things off that I normally ignore because it's just a pain in the butt to unroll my shop compressor hose. This just comes out to the car with you. If you already have other 18V Makita LXT tools this is a very nice add. Maybe a bit pricy, but my experience is mini air compressors are generally not cheap. ... show more

  • Item works great
Style: Inflator, Tool Only Color: Teal
My Makita drill battery did not fit this device. I called Makita support and was told that Makita changed the batteries a few years ago, and if my drill was 7 years or older, it wouldn’t work with the DMP 180. However, he said that if I ordered the newer battery, it would be compatible with this device, and it would also fit my Makita drill fast charger (and fit my drill). I ordered the correct battery from Amazon. The battery fits the compressor now. It’s a fantastic addition to my tool collection. Makita told me to order the 3 amp battery version. I found a 6 amp model on Amazon (108WH). The trigger requires very little pressure to squeeze, so the fact that there is no trigger lock doesn’t bother me at all — and the several pounds of air (at the most) per tire that I have to add to each tire only takes seconds. ... show more
