  • Great piece of equipment at a great price.
Color: BLACK Style: Raptor F16 Squat Rack Only
This is a sturdy cage at a great price. It is easy to assemble but easier wit a little help holding larger pieces. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. This purchase made the basement gym even more functional and allowed for more exercises to be done safely.

  • Best bang for your buck rack
This power rack w/the optional pulley system came with everything we wanted except the resistance pegs and the landmine attachment (which were pictured on some reviews but were from another model). We contacted Major Fitness about this and they were quick to accommodate our issue by sending the pegs for free and the landmine at a discounted price. The rack is easy to assemble as long as you are mechanically inclined, take your time and have at least another person helping you. Once completed this setup is solid and is a very nice entry level power rack. ... show more

  • Good value for an entry level power rack
To be clear, I have the Major Fitness/ Lutie Raptor F16 Power Cage with the optional Lat pull down cable accessory. I say this because the reviews/ pictures are a mix of the F16, the upgraded Major Fitness/ Lutie PLM03 and some other similar looking racks. I work out in a garage gym by myself, so I decided to invest in a rack for safety reasons. I’ve seen too many videos of people passing out or failing on a set of heavy squats and getting crushed under the bar. A power rack alleviates my concerns because of the safety bars. I did quite a bit of research before I decided to get this rack. Budget concerns were a big factor, and the jump in price to a mid or upper grade rack wasn’t something I was comfortable with. The rack was pretty easy to assemble, but I have tools and am pretty handy. Just double check that the 2x2 upright tubes aren’t upside down. I had to change 2 of my 4, which took about 15 minutes. Total build time was about 2 hours for the rack, plus 90 minutes for the pulley system. This is an entry level power rack, but few people will need more than what this rack provides. It claims a 1200 pound weigh capacity. If you can squat even half that amount, you are elite and deserve a better power rack. For those of us in the 200-300 squat or bench press range, this is plenty. The J hooks are fine. They seem to have a steel hook that has plastic on both sides to make it seem beefier. Although the plastic doesn’t add much, the thick steel plate seems plenty strong. The hooks are not going anywhere as you lift because you must rotate them 90 degrees to slide them out. Gravity holds them down just fine and the steel wraps around the back of your post to hold it in place. I don’t like the safety bars on this set up. Rather than a solid steel pipe, the safety bars are a square shape and has the same safety mechanism as the j hooks. To move the bar up/ down, you must rotate it sideways, then insert two 3 inch begs into the rack at the correct height. Getting the pegs into the correct holes simultaneously is not terribly easy. It’s annoying and seems unnecessarily complicated. The only reason that I can see is so you can put yet another bar across the safety bars to hold your legs while doing Lat pull downs. No thanks. I was deciding between the Raptor F16 rack and the Untra Fuego power rack. I liked the corner braces on the F16 and I thought the thick black banner was another steel support. It’s not, it’s just a cheap vinyl banner. I also liked the J Hooks on that are included with the F16 vs the elongated hooks on the Ultra Fuego rack. The cage itself is probably the exact same in both models. If I’m being honest, I wanted the cool red paint job on the F16. The other only comes in black. Looking back, I wish I would have gotten the other rack. It’s slightly cheaper ($33 cheaper with the current coupon). More importantly, it comes with a great deal more attachments. I’ve already bought a couple and you can spend a lot on these. The F16 comes with 2 attachments. A Lat Pull down and a straight rowing attachment. I would love to have the dip station, triceps rope , landmine attachment and especially the weight storage pegs (x4). Bought individually, these will cost over $100. The Ultra Fuego also has the more user friendly safety bars. I love having the optional cable pully system. I was happy that it can accept 1” or Olympic weights using a 2” diameter sleeve that can go over the 1” rods. The system works pretty smoothly after I added some lubricant. Having the system is a major addition for my workouts. However, there is a MAJOR DESIGN FLAW. The pulley wheels are made of nylon (plastic). There is an upper attachment and a lower attachment point which is great. But the way the system operates, when I pull down, the bottom pulley wheel is getting crushed against the ball that is meant to hold it in place. Vice versa when I am attached to the bottom point. Whatever weight you are using, is pulling the ball against the wheel with that much pressure. After every set, the pulley wheel becomes more and more deformed. The wheel will not last long. Maybe a matter of weeks. I am in the process of ordering new aluminum pulley wheels that will hold their shape (about $20 each). I hope it works. The pulleys get in the way when you set up for squats along the back of the cage. Maybe I am supposed to set up facing the other way, but I’ve never done it that way. The newly greasy cable hits my head when I rack and un-rack. It’s not much, maybe an inch or so, but I’ve caught myself bending my neck to avoid hitting it. Probably a good way to get injured. I plan on either facing the other way on the front posts, or tying back the cables a bit. My last point is the height of the rack. Mostly important to freakishly tall people like me (I’m 6’8”/ 80”). The top of the pull up bars is 81.5”, but the rack itself is a few inches shorter. The end of the top pully system hangs down another couple inches. This did not work for me at all. I decided to raise the rack onto a 5 inch platform. It’s bolted together and very sturdy but not ideal. That gives me the clearance I need and also helps with pull-ups. I still have to pull my feet up, but it’s fine. This is a decent budget rack and will most likely work for your needs. Like I said though, I would also consider the Ultra Fuego rack just for the extra attachments. ... show more

  • Better than expected
I knew this was a “budget” rack, so I wasn’t expecting a lot to be honest. The Pros: I have been pleasantly surprised at the quality of the rack. It’s sturdy and well constructed. I haven’t tested the upper limits of its weight capacity, but for a recreational lifter it should be more than sufficient. Comes with most of the necessary attachments to get started. Cons: a few blemishes in the paint on some of the attachments, but the main rack was perfect. The attachments aren’t the best quality, but, again, are more than sufficient for a beginner to intermediate lifter. My only real complaint is the cable attachment. Because of the way it attaches, the range of motion is a little short, but something that can be compensated for. (I kneel when doing cable lateral raises) The cable is also not the smoothest, but again, more than sufficient. Overall, for the price, this is a great piece of equipment that should be more than sufficient for most lifters up to an intermediate level. As a bonus, customer service is also great. I had an issue with one of the uprights on the rack during installation. They responded quickly, fixed the issue, and I had a new replacement part all in less than a week. ... show more

  • Solid Rack for the Price
This is the first rack I've ever owned myself so I wasn't quite sure what I was getting with a "cheaper" rack, however I'm very happy with this purchase. It had all parts and pieces needed to assemble and took my wife and I probably 2 hours to put together. I'm 6'3" roughly 260 lbs and the rack was very solid with no wobble/movement while I was doing pullups. Very happy with this purchase! ... show more

  • Best Bang for Buck. No Regrets.
I love my rack. It arrived here faster than expected and only took me (5’2 130lb female) 1 day to put it together. I was able to carry both boxes from door to sunroom where it was built. I love it. It’s sturdy and meets all my needs. Came in great condition and any scratches or chipped paint I’ve inflected since its purchase. Isn’t anything a little rust oleum won’t fix. It’s kept outdoors but covered and never wet, no concerns for rust due to the black coating. Pull up bar is perfect height for me. the leg bar, lat pulldown accessories and spotter arms are great. Only concern would be the rubber protector on spotter arms doesn’t stick well, but I’m sure I could use stronger adhesive. 10/10 great starter rack. I’ve added tons of accessories and lights. It’s sturdy and can handle all the weight I can throw at it. ... show more
