I used this in our bathroom. We have frosted windows that are hard to fit for curtains. But it looks so much light in at 5 AM, that it will wake you up. So I wanted something to alleviate that. But I also wanted to be able to open the sideways sliding window. Enter these magnetic, blackout shades. the shades come in a huge sheet. And then you just cut the size that you need. It comes with Velcro discs and also magnetic fasteners. Really, I could’ve used the magnetic ones because there is metal around the window. But I decided to use the Velcro instead. We will see how that holds up since it is a bathroom and it does get humid. But for now, it works really well. I am able to remove it when I need to. It was super simple to cut. And it really does black out every bit of light! It has a silver backing on it, so when you are outside, you just see the silver backing (if your windows are not frosted). The material is easy to cut, and is slightly easy to rip. But it has not ripped at the fastener points yet. Overall, I am very pleased with this! Also as a side note, it also came with a cute little clear storage box for the magnetic fasteners. And it included screws for the magnetic fasteners. And everything can fit into an included drawstring storage bag, which I thought was super cute and helpful! 100% recommend!

I have the luxury of being able to stay in bed every morning until after the sun comes up but am always woken up when it gets even the least bit light outside. My bedroom window also gets all of the afternoon sun, so it gets a little warm in there (I live in Texas, it's not even summer yet and it's already hot) and unfortunately, the new velvet curtains I recently got are only darkening (not blackout) and I'm not going to the additional expense of replacing them, so I thought I would try this removeable blackout curtain. They were super easy to cut and install, everything you need is included in the package: the blackout fabric, hook and loop tape, magnets and screws, as well as a measuring tape. My windows are older and I prefer not to drill into them, so I just used the hook and loop tape and it's perfect. Completely dark and at the time of this review, they had only been installed for about an hour and I could already feel a difference in the temperature in the room. These are definitely a good idea. No more old school aluminum foil on the windows.

It’s a decent value for your money as these are easy to cut and assemble especially if you were to go on a trip with them and you see adhesive not only does it keep the curtain up, but it also removes very easily without leaving any marks. I wouldn’t call them blackout as light can come through the side.

My house probably looks so goth now, but I don't mind. The window on my front door lets in a lot of light. The best spot for the TV is on the wall directly opposite the door. This makes it difficult if you want to watch while the sun is up (my front door faces south). I had a thick curtain, folded in half, covering the window, but it still let in too much light. Since I'm used to the fold, I just folded this one (79" x 57") in 4ths and used the magnets to hold it in place. It works wonderfully! If I ever need another window covered, I will cut this, but for now, it's fine just folded. The magnets are strong enough to keep it up. That brings up another point - this set has got to be perfect for everyone. They give you all you need to install this 3 different ways. Plus, the tape measurer is super handy for all sorts of other purposes.
