I bought this as a gift for a work colleague because we have a running joke when we get complicated questions from our customers that we are going to ask the Magic 8 Ball. My Magic 8 Ball arrived in the cool retro box I remember as a kid. Luckily it still had an opening in the box where you could try the Magic 8 Ball, without opening the box, and see what it said in response to your question. For whatever reason the message piece of this rarely if ever showed the message against the viewing window on the bottom of the 8 Ball. I had my spouse try it and no luck. I was very lucky to notice this before wrapping it up and gifting it. Too funny, when I took to Amazon return desk, the attendant even tried it and said, she loved the old Magic 8 Balls as a kid, but this one was just not readable and apologized for me having to return it.
