The bacon press worked great for what its intended but when I was making Smashed Hambugers on the griddle I decided to use it to smash the burgers...it was actually better than what I was using. Because its heavy I can let it hold down for 10 seconds to get the perfect crust. Handle dissipates heat. It's easy to clean. It slipped out of my hand onto the concrete patio and survived without damage. Glad I bought it...worth the money! The stainless steel dome I've used on the outdoor kitchen griddle, grill as well as inside the kitchen---I like that it's easy to clean and because it has a heatproof handle it doesn't have a problem inside a 90,000btu ultra high heat grill. Great product!

The metal dome cover is very useful for steaming/frying vegetables on a griddle top. The smash burger utensil is heavy cast iron and very reasonable in cost. However, it will rust easily so it needs to be seasoned after every use. I use beef tallow as it has a high temp smoke point.
