The bacon press worked great for what its intended but when I was making Smashed Hambugers on the griddle I decided to use it to smash the burgers...it was actually better than what I was using. Because its heavy I can let it hold down for 10 seconds to get the perfect crust. Handle dissipates heat. It's easy to clean. It slipped out of my hand onto the concrete patio and survived without damage. Glad I bought it...worth the money! The stainless steel dome I've used on the outdoor kitchen griddle, grill as well as inside the kitchen---I like that it's easy to clean and because it has a heatproof handle it doesn't have a problem inside a 90,000btu ultra high heat grill. Great product!

This dome lid is the perfect size to allow for a variety of cooking needs for both in the kichen and outdoor grilling. It also acts as a pan lid for various pans. Us the dome lid all the time. The press is also high quality and gives many uses, panini, smash burger, crisp pan fried potatoes. Great purchase, could not be more pleased.

Overall, this will do the trick. There was a rust spot (on the top) of the "smasher" tool about the size of a penny. I was able to clean most of it off, and then I seasoned the tool like you would with most cast iron cooking tools. Also, the bottom of the tool is not flat. It has hundreds of lines and grooves. I'm not sure why it's designed like this, but definitely made cleaning the tool more difficult. No complaints about the dome - good quality and works fine.

The dome is especially nice! Besides for griddle usage, will also use to keep food warm and covered. Its quite large and pretty much covers most of my small 17 inch griddle cooking area. I have used it for making English Muffins on a griddle. The smasher is heavy duty cast iron and works fine also for stuff like bacon and french fries.
