Items works well. Smash burgers came out great. For those talking about the rust, this item is cast iron so you need to wash, dry it, then season it (apply thin layer of cooking oil) or it will rust!! My photos are after using, washing, and oiling it!

The metal dome cover is very useful for steaming/frying vegetables on a griddle top. The smash burger utensil is heavy cast iron and very reasonable in cost. However, it will rust easily so it needs to be seasoned after every use. I use beef tallow as it has a high temp smoke point.

The only issue I have is with the dome. I don’t see how it makes sense to put a metal handle on the medal dome. I guess now I need a silicone glove to handle it when it’s hot. The burger press is perfect. I’d have given this 5 stars if the dome had a sensible handle.
