This dehydrator dries evenly. You only need to rotate the trays 180 degres one during a cycle. And sometimes don’t need to rotate them at I dried tomato’s, yellow squash, and cucumbers with 100% success. I put all my dried vegetables in vacuum storage bags. Recommenddd.

I love dried fruit and jerky, so this dehydrator was a no-brainer for me. Its footprint is fairly compact, but it has 8 drying racks, so you can dry a lot of food at one time, which is nice. Besides the 8 drying racks, it also comes with 8 non-stick silicone mats, 2 fruit leather trays, a pair of silicone grippers, and a set of tongs. The controls are fairly simple and intuitive, there is an on/off button, a button for the interior light (which is a nice feature), buttons for time and temperature, and a plus and minus button for adjusting either of those. I tried this out with banana slices and apple slices, and it does a really good job. Everything took longer to dry than the included recipe book suggested, but Florida is pretty humid, so that likely affected the timing. A couple of things to note: The machine gets fairly hot on top and in back, and it does warm up the area a bit. But that is kind of unavoidable, and is pretty much par for any dehydrator. And the temperature isn't very adjustable. It is pre-set for a handful of suggested temperatures, so you're stuck with what the manufacturer thinks you should use. They also suggest that you put your own thermometer inside the dehydrator to monitor temperature, but since you can't really do any fine adjustments, I'm not sure what that would accomplish. Also, the directions could be a little more thorough, but like I said, it's pretty intuitive, so not really a big deal. Altogether I'm pretty pleased with this dehydrator. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. My old bottom heated dehydrator died from years of sticky drips. I won't have to worry about that with this easy to wipe up 700W LynTorin Food Dehydrator. The rectangular tray shelf system is WAY more convenient to deal with than my old stacked round trays. Drying times do lean toward the longer estimates and I get to rotate trays more frequently. The light is great and has gone off automatically when forgotten. The preset temperatures are convenient, so I don’t have to scroll through every single numbers. Did i mentio easy cleanup? I have used this to successfully dry mandolin sliced apples, pears, asian pears, bananas, and halved cherry tomatoes. I definitely had to rotate the shelves up and down. But, more importantly, I had to rotate the individual shelves front to back! Items in the back bear the brunt of the fanned heat. My back rows of tomatoes started blackening even at lower than suggested temperatures. Performance suggests significant difference in temperature been the front and back as well as top and bottom. I never got temperature readings exceeding selected heat levels with my thermometer. Big happy shout out for those super easy to wash silicon mats. They are crucial in keeping the cherry tomato halves from falling through the trays as the drying cherries shrink. ... show more

Made jerky for the first use. Really easy the instructions say for jerky to set at 149 degrees for between four to seven hours. I set at 159 for six hours and had to turn the trays around at the 3 hour mark, which tell me that the heat is not distributed evenly. That being said, as long as I know how it really works, I don't mind turning the tray at the halfway point. The silicone liners are genius, but be careful when using the control panel, it's pretty cheap and seem fragile. Al in all, it a good purchase. ... show more

Arrived with a broken leg. They are made out of cheap thin plastic. Increase/plus button on the panel inoperative. Not worth 49.99 much less the 149.99 I paid for it. Returned

The capacity of this dehydrator is fantastic. My previous dehydrator was round; I didn’t realize how much space it wasted until I used this one for the first time. My previous dehydrator used a stacking tray system with the heating and fan elements located in the base. This meant I needed to rotate the trays (move the bottom tray to the top) continually to ensure an even dry. This unit doesn’t require any such moving of trays. The only thing I did was rotate each tray 180 degrees once during drying (when drying fruit leather, I also flip the leather once). So far, everything I’ve dried has come out even. The temperature and time controls are intuitive to use. The ability to turn on an interior light to check on the food is a feature I never knew I needed - it’s great. Included are 8 drying racks, 8 non-stick silicone mats, 2 fruit leather trays, 2 silicone grippers, and a set of tongs. When making fruit leather in the fruit trays, I use parchment paper. This means cleaning is effortless. The non-stick silicone mats work better than I expected - two thumbs up. The tongs, while handy, aren’t the highest quality; I’ll enjoy them while they last. Besides the tongs, all parts feel durable and well-made. The included recipe book is a nice bonus. I have found the drying times indicated in the book to be a bit off - things need just a bit longer. That said, I don’t think the extended drying time is a fault of the dehydrator since it is consistent with drying times in other recipe books. I’m very happy with this dehydrator. ... show more
