It is very time consuming and it is somewhat difficult to build. There a lot of parts that needed to be attached, but it was nice that everything was labeled by letters or numbers. I found it important to lay everything out in an order making it easier to find the parts. It will take longer to build than advertised, but they are correct when they state you will need at least 3 or more people to assist in the build. I did have a part break (control arm part # J1) so only one section (of the 3 sections) of louvers will open and close. The section of louvers that do worked are really nice and I am excited for the other sections to be repaired. I am currently waiting for a response from the seller to replace the broken parts, so I can finish the build. The overall pergola look is really nice and once the repairs are made and the build is completed I am really looking forward to my new outdoor space. Unfortunately, because the build is not complete, I cannot comment regarding how well the pergola repels water and whether water does or does not come through the louvers when closed. Worked with the seller regarding the replacement parts needed, they were quick to respond and send out the part need to finish installation of the louvers. Follow up...I worked with the seller regarding the broken parts. They were quick to respond and resolve the problems by shipping out replace parts.

I waited a while to write this review to make sure there were no problems. In my opinion the louvered pergola is very sturdy and I expect it to last for years to come!!! Everyone who comes here loves it and I love that it opens and closes the louvered roof and curtains, it keeps out the afternoon sun and also protects our privacy while still keeping our house cooler! We've had the louvered pergola for a while but it looks like brand new and I'm planning on getting another one for my mom's house!
