First off let me start this by saying I have owned several other air purifiers, and understand about white noise. I purchased the flex for the bedroom after reading about Alen. It arrived today and the packaging was ok. I opened the box, installed the filter, and plugged it in. I cycled through the speeds and immediatey smelled a chemical type smell. I then noticed on fan speed 2 the motor would slightly rev up and down causing the device to make a very annoying whine noise. I then read the smell is an ongoing issue. Something I also learned was Alen filters are not true HEPA. They are not even rated as HEPA, and there is no AHAM rating. I already boxed this piece of junk back up and will be sending it back to amazon tomorrow. What a waste of 400 dollars. Lesson learned I guess. With this company you don’t get what you pay for. I should also add that I called the company for help and had to leave a voicemail that is yet to be returned. Find another reputable company that is true HEPA!

We are city cats, and we now live in an urban area with lots of cars and busses. We aren't happy with the amount of dust and housekeeping we have to do here. Mom says our fur is a problem too, shedding, and all of that. Mom kept getting ads for Molekule on her iPhone, but it was SO expensive. There wouldn't have been anything left for cat toys if she had bought those. Then we read the reviews! And we saw how wonderful Alen air Purifiers were, and how well they performed compared to Molekule and many other brands. So we told our mom. She now has two, one in the living room and one in our bedroom. So now when we wake up in the morning Mom's eyes aren't red, and she has a lot more energy to play with us. The media could not be loaded. lacking in the one feature I now wish it had: the smart air quality sensor. I wrote a lengthy review for its big brother and we liked it so much I ordered this smaller unit for our bedroom. I assumed the blue power light implied the smart sensor was baked in to the features but it turns that’s not the case. It’s not a huge deal breaker but for the price, I think it should have had it. It would be nice to know how polluted the room may be, and how long it would take for the filter to clean it up as was the case with the larger unit. But the packaging was great. All the corners and edges were protected by tape. Only time will tell if the fan holds up, so we will see! Update: 48+ hrs of running now and this thing is showing some results. So far so good but it is a bit ironic to see so much dust accumulate on top of an air filter. Update: added a shot of this thing 5 months later. Pretty nuts. Not sure if I am happy or sad. Happy that it’s sucking up everything that normally would just settle somewhere. Sad to see they there is so much crud on the room - somehow from somewhere.

We live full time in our 38 foot travel trailer, and this has been a wonderful purchase for our health. Husband has horrible allergies that cause sinus infections on a regular basis. Before this purchase, he used his ceramic neti pot nightly - sometimes twice a day. Since this purchase two months ago, he's used his neti pot only around four times! We tote it into our bedroom at night and back into the living area in the morning. A little hassle, but who can afford TWO? 😆 Edit: I caved and bought another! We got the 45i model for the living area and put this one in the bedroom. Our new model is always on "auto" mode and it ramps up as needed (often!). We use this one on Turbo as we sleep and it creates great white noise to sleep by - as well as the health benefits. Yay!

For each of the 5 mornings after I turned this unit on, waking up was like clawing my way out of a drugged state. This is not normal for me, not even on my worst allergy/asthma days. I turned off the unit on day 5 and on morning 6 I was able to wake up with no difficulty. I also smelled ozone on occasion, despite the fact that this unit does not have an ionizer. I am very disappointed, this unit came up in the top 5 for each of my searches for an air purifier that addresses mold.

Let me start of by saying this is my first air purifier that I have ever purchased so I would not be able to compare this to other other brands. I bought this because I have poor ventilation in my apartment and lots of carpets. With COVID 19 outbreak I figured it would be a good purchase. Also bought this because the tenants downstairs like to smoke every now and then. I did a lot of research and basically from my understanding a good air purifier is ozone free, True HEPA filter or HEPA SILVER FILTER are what you want to look for. This ALEN air purifier has just that and LIFE TIME WARRANTY. That is what really sold me on this product. For the first 3 days I put this in my office and bedroom where I spend most of my time and within 3 days on level 3 - it captured so much dust. It states it can cover up to 700 sq ft but I have not tried it. I just keep it in the rooms I use most. From the look of my outside layered filter that captures bigger particles it is most certainly doing its job. Noise level at level 3 and 4(turbo) you will hear a small humming but for me its comforting. If you are the type that needs 0 noise then this would probably not work for you. It is not rattling or very loud but you can most certainly hear it blowing air out. On top of it doing what its created for - very stylish!! I got this in Nickel Brush and it blends in perfectly. I hope this review helps someone who is doing intensive research as I did. I called customer service and they were very helpful with all the questions I had. I ordered the +SMOKE and according to customer service the SMOKE filter is made of the same thing the SILVER Filter is made of so you can rest assure both choices will have the SILVER layer you are looking for which KILLS and captures GERMS/ viruses. This review is not for promo and I get nothing from it. I do intensive research on products I purchase and its only fair to share experiences!
