First of all, I am delinquent in writing this review. When I ordered it, I didn't check it's details closely. I thought I was ordering a small light for indoors - like a night light for a grandchild's room. It arrived in January and realized this is a serious area light. It turns out I had a perfect use for it. I have had a big hulking fixture attached to the west side of my house that required expensive bulbs, which don't last long. So I have waited till the weather turned nice to install it. The top of the fixture contains the control circuit and power connections. On the left side is a conduit attach point, if power will be supplied by wall mounted conduit. On the right side of the light is a clear housing containing a set of toggle switches and a light sensor. The bottom part of the fixture contains the LED array and the lens. You can either mount this light using the holes on either side of the top housing, or you can mount it to an electrical box. If you are going to mount the light to an electrical box, you will need to drill holes in the appropriate locations in the backplate, which by the way is metal. Patterns are molded into the back plate for guidance. The top/front cover of the fixture must be removed if mounting to an electrical box and it must also be removed to connect wires. There are five toggle switches. The first two provide three different options for the wattage (100%, 80%, 60). The third selects the operation of the photocell (active or inactive). The last two provide three different light temperature settings (50,000K, 40,000K, or 30,000K). The instructions for the switches are very clear. The things I like about this light are: It is compact It feels solid It is easy to install It is easy to understand the operational modes It is very bright I have the light set to 4000K and 80% . It has the option of installing a dimmer switch, which we did not exercise, as the light it replaced did not have a dimmer. When installing, you will want to ensure the part housing the toggle switches is securely tightened. The reason for this is that if the clear cap is tightened hard, in order to ensure a seal, it may be tighter than the base and when you try to remove the cap, it removes the housing as well. I don't know if backing that out all the way will cause wiring/connection damage. I can't think of any negatives for this light. I am expecting years of service from this light at low cost, since it is LED. ... show more

Easy to install, but you'll need regular 110V power. Works well with light detection. Often my sons turn light and forget to turn off. This will save electricity if every forget to turn off during the day. Looks good, but nothing fancy. Good night light.     • May be a good fixture....
....if you like the somewhat industrial style, and it includes some useful features, but customer service is MIA so far. This light offers two user adjustments for color temperature and brightness. They are configured using DIP switches, a bit of a blast from the past, but it works. I found that the dimmest setting is still very bright, as you might expect since it's still 15 Watts (approximately equal to 100+ W incandescent). The dusk to dawn feature has no adjustments and works well. I used this to replace a light fixture next to an entrance door to a garage. The mount point is not very much higher than the top of the door, and I found that this light is too bright, even at the lowest setting, because it shines a lot of the light outward, into my eyes when I walk up to the door. At night, that's somewhere between annoying and blinding. There are 5 wires for this fixture, the normal 3 wires for US line voltage, and 2 others which are capped on the ends, and marked DC+ and DC-. The instructions mention that they are for dimming but say nothing else. I tried to contact the manufacturer but haven't heard back (5-6 days now). I assume that they are control lines, such as used for X10 devices, but don't know, and in fact if that's the case, I wouldn't use this feature anyway. So, I find this light to be less than I was hoping for. It probably would be fine if it were mounted higher on the wall. ... show more

My wife and I had this installed into the stone walled embankment that leads into the driveway/garage area with several others. It has a beautiful appearance and the light is spread as we wanted. This is a high-quality outdoor wall lamp. It has a photocell that can be set to automatically turn on in the evening and turn off in the morning. It also has a very high-quality waterproof IP65 waterproof function.
