A his and her point of view review. After my wife tore her bicep muscle in a fall in the chicken coop and had to have it surgically repaired, I did what any good husband would do and offered to help keep her clean. And like any independent person, this did not appeal to her. We had some experience with a bidet attachment from her mother’s house. She had a very expensive heated seat with a blow dryer unit and lots of other bells and whistles. Well, if you have an extra $900 or so laying around and can also afford an electrician to wire your toilet up then go for it. But my wife is an excellent shopper and she came across this unit. I had my doubts because of the low price point. I was and still am, close to a year later, very pleasantly surprised. I read all of the product reviews at the time, especially the ones where installation tips and tricks were pointed out. This review will be no different as I am pretty good around tools, though you need very few to install this unit. Installation is a breeze. If you can change a toilet seat, and change a water line on the back of the toilet, then you have what it takes to accomplish this job in about 15 -20 minutes. As others recommended certain upgrades, I will do the same. First off, I purchased the metal tank adaptor /shutoff valve, found here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FPYIK6M/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 While the adaptor may not have been 100% necessary, I installed it in May of 2014 and have not had a problem yet. I do recommend using some Teflon tape on the threads. Again, probably not a necessity but I learned a very long time ago to do things right the first time and you don't have to do them again. I stand by those lessons learned. It is also important to know that this bidet works off of the pressure from the tank, NOT the water inlet. So if all heck breaks loose and you have a way to fill up your tank from rain water or other sources, you're covered. And being fed from the tank keeps it from being overly cold when using it. The second upgrade I would recommend would be toilet bumpers that raise the seat slightly so as to make sure there is enough clearance between the seat and bidet. You can find those here. Haven't had a drop of water leak anywhere since I installed it. As my wife will tell you next, whenever we go out to a hotel the only thing she misses is our toilet bidet. So whenever I can get their portable unit I'll give you a review of that. With very short arms and a debilitating injury, this thing saved me from a lot of hassle and discomfort. As my husband alluded to, the flow of the water can be regulated to suit individual comfort. There are different jet positions for men and women which can be adusted. We got the non-heated water unit because we didn’t want to pay the extra money and do the extra work for the heated unit. Yes, the water can be cold but it’s bearable. The best part of all however, is the level of cleanliness I get without using a lot of time and toilet paper. I was very pleased with this product and would recommend this to anyone. Great value and results. I purchased this item with a bit of hesitation as bidets are not popular in the United States. I was convinced that this would make the number 2 business much more pleasant. I couldn't have been more right. I only wish that it had a bar of soap with it. Installation: The installation process was very straight forward. The install went something like this. A quick turn of the knob to turn off the water to toilet. Undo the line from the wall to the toilet and insert the one given by this product. The water line will go from wall, to water tank where there is a splitter, and then to the bidet. This process is very straight forward but be cautious as to not over tighten the connectors as it could cause a leak. Unfasten the toilet seat and align the bidet to the rear of the toilet. Refasten and tighten the screws down that secure the seat. This is the one area where I took away one star from the product. I would have taken a half star but that's not allowed. I felt that the bidet forces the toilet lid to sit proud of the top of the toilet thus making the lid not sit flush when closed. Its a small thing but does force a small space between toilet and seat and causes the seat to bend down when sat upon. This isn't a problem for me but I felt like something could be done to balance the seat. Test: Once installed a test was in store. Pull lightly on the lever and ensure the water begins to stream out. This is a sign that it is installed correctly. If pulled too far this will result in a wet shirt. So be careful :) Summary: Using this product is wonderful. The cool refreshing water is used to cleanse and provide a decent pressure in order to ensure the area is clean. The pressure is not unpleasant. This device allows you to stay shower fresh and clean through out the day. I only wish bidets were more widely accepted across our culture. Staying fresh and clean is worth every penny of this product and I would easily purchase it again. Hope this helps. Questions welcome. UPDATE: Luxe customer service contacted me and asked if they could do anything to help the 4 star review I had originally given. I complained about the gap with the toilet seat caused by the installation of the bidet. They immediately sent me some grommets (rubber feet) to help better seat the toilet lid. It worked like a charm. That _was_ my only problem with this wonderful product and they made it _right_. 5/5 in customer service and 5/5 in product. Purchase this item now and YOU will be happy. In my search for an inexpensive, self-installed integrated bidet, I considered several brands, but the Luxe brand seemed to get overwhelmingly-positive reviews. My next choice was which model; the 180 seemed to have the best price-features ratio, and I figured after I installed it I could go to a higher model if there were features I thought would be appreciated. After using it for a year in our master bathroom, I got a second one for our main floor half-bath. When you first open your Amazon box and look at the Luxe packaging, you know you aren't dealing with a discount, cheap brand whose main goal is the cheapest product at the cheapest price. The box is full-color printed and is easy to open. Further, the contents are neatly packed in two large resealable bags, a nice touch. Time and care has obviously been taken with the various instructions, including a cute little color flyer on how to actually use the product once installed. The installation instructions are clear (with one caveat that I will mention later), with good illustrations; this is professional work, not something thrown together by a warehouse worker. For me, the longest part of the installation was unscrewing the two nuts holding on the toilet seat, and later re-screwing them. My seat has bolts about an inch long, with plastic nuts. Turning by hand was very difficult, so most of it was a quarter-turn at a time. Further, visibility was limited. None of this was the fault of the product; it was just how my seat was constructed. Attaching the three main plumbing pieces (T-connection and two flexible pipes) is pretty straightforward, and I think each of the connectors can only connect to one thing, so it would take some innovation to mess it up. After everything was connected, I slowly turned on the water valve and...mega-leak. After several more attempts at tightening various connections and retrying, no luck, but I did isolate the leak to the connection at the very bottom of the toilet tank. NOTE: the illustration in the instructions is seemingly clear, but it shows an included rubber gasket that has a large end and a small end, with a curved side. The rubber washer included was not exactly that shape: there were no curves, but rather straight sides. Think of a couple of dimes sitting on top of a couple of nickels. I had originally put the washer in large side down with the small side out; flipping it around, with large side out, and reattaching did the trick - no more leaks! I have recommended the Luxe brand bidet to several others, and will continue to do so. In this price range, it is fantastic. I was initially a little concerned that the plastic handles would seem "cheap", but they actually look great - they really look metal, with a high-quality finish. I only have one wish, and one that would almost certainly increase the cost: an adjustable pressure regulator to the line feeding the bidet. If the pressure coming out of the unit is too high, we've found we can turn down the supply valve a bit; the only downside is this makes your tank take longer to fill. Again, I realize this would add cost, and complexity, to the unit. ************ UPDATE ************ I had obtained two of these through Amazon. My original one purchased in 2014 suddenly developed a leak in the main apparatus (where the handles are). Not a slow leak, but a stream when attempting to use it. I used the Web contact form linked to from Amazon's product page, and frankly my experience with these type of contact forms in general has not been great. This was on a weekend. Monday I had a personal response from someone at 2Go Products apologizing for my product fault, asked me to confirm my address, and said they would get a new unit out via 2nd Day shipping. Tuesday my replacement unit was at my door! I simply can't say enough good things about how they handled this issue (note: the device had worked perfectly until the leak started suddenly). THIS IS WARRANTY SERVICE DONE RIGHT!

I have long had interest in having a bidet in our home. After having rectal surgery a few years ago it has been difficult to keep my behind clean after using the toilet, requiring lots of toilet paper and several flushes each trip. We don't have an electrical outlet near the toilet, so the fancy bidets one sees in the home centers are not an option. I was really excited when I came across the Luxe bidet since it is designed to add on to most any toilet using the toilet's water line to function. I purchased the Neo 180 over other brands of similar bidets mainly due to the advertised better plumbing material and hoses. The Luxe Neo 180 comes in a box with two metal hoses, a plastic T-adapter for the toilet water inlet, and compete instructions. Depending upon the type of toilet seat you have it may be necessary to purchase a set of bumpers to raise the seat up slightly after installing the bidet. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to tell from the product instructions or the FAQ page on the Luxebidet.com web site whether or not you will need these bumpers. I opted to purchase a set from Luxebidet.com just to be on the safe side. As it turns out, I didn't need them. I also opted to purchase a metal T-adapter from Luxebidet.com so the water to the bidet could be shut off if needed, but the adapter I received initially leaked something horrible. Upon learning about these issues, though, Luxe customer service sent a replacement adapter and offered to refund my money for the bumpers with absolutely no hassle whatsoever. First off, this is not a 15-minute installation as the instructions would lead you to believe. If all goes well, it will likely be more like 30 minutes to do the installation. You have to shut off the water to your toilet and drain all of the residual water out of the toilet tank or you may have a mess on your hands. I used a wet/dry vac to suck out the water left in the tank after flushing. If you don't have a wet/dry vac you can use towels to soak up the water in the bottom of the tank. It also helps to put a small towel underneath your work area to catch any water that leaks. Secondly, you will want to use plumber's tape on all threaded connections. The instructions don't mention this at all but, trust me, you will want to invest the extra time and few cents involved to use plumber's tape or you may have leaks all over the place. If you are not familiar with plumber's tape, it is a thin non-stick tape that is designed to prevent leaks from threaded plumbing connections. A layer is wrapped around the threaded end of the connection in the same clockwise direction that you will be screwing on the other end. You can buy it for probably less than a dollar at any home center or hardware store. And finally, you will find it easier to adequately tighten all of your hose connections to the T-adapter before you attach the adapter to the bottom of your toilet tank rather than trying to do this after installing the adapter as the instructions would have you do. In my case, I tried to use the optional metal T-adapter. After completing my installation water shot all over the place from the swivel section of the adapter. I replaced it with the plastic adapter that came with the bidet, and there was still some leakage but not anywhere near as much as with the metal adapter. I suspect there is a gasket problem with the adapter I bought, but Luxe shipped a free replacement for me to use. After I installed the replacement metal T-adapter I had no further leaks. My installation was also complicated by one of the hoses leaking at one end. Fortunately, I had a spare hose from a previous plumbing job I did and was able to complete the installation so I could at least try out the bidet before Luxe sent me replacement parts. Sadly, even using the plastic T-adapter there was ongoing leakage and I had to temporarily uninstall the bidet. I emailed Luxe about these issues, but it was over the Memorial Day holiday weekend and did not expect an immediate response. The first business day after the holiday, though, I did get an immediate response to my email, and I also spoke with a customer service representative by phone. Their response to my problems was quick, decisive, and absolutely hassle-free. Replacement parts arrived quickly by FedEx (from California to Tennessee in two days - very fast). I can't ask for better customer service than what they provided. After completing my bidet installation I tried out the bidet and I will say the Neo 180 works very well. A gentle lift of the control lever is all that is needed to shoot a steady stream of water to exactly the right spot on one's bottom. If you are using the plastic T-adapter that came with the bidet, I recommend pulling the lever up slowly at first until you get a feel for how far to pull it up. If you pull it up too far you will get a rather sharp stream of water that can be uncomfortable. I found when I used the optional metal T-adapter that the water stream is not as intense, even at full force. The metal T-adapter also allows you to easily turn off the water supply to both the bidet and the toilet with the turn of a lever. This is a handy feature if you have kids or pets that might accidentally turn on the bidet and leave it running. The nozzle inside the toilet bowl stays hidden behind a shield until it is activated. There is a second nozzle that is used for feminine washing. The selector for the different sprays, including a nozzle-cleaning spray, is right behind the bidet control lever and clicks to let you know when you have correctly changed your setting. Everything is easy and pretty intuitive to use. I was initially irritated by the extra time, work, and money I spent trying to get this bidet functioning correctly, especially since I had to temporarily uninstall it due to ongoing leakage. After receiving replacement parts I reinstalled it, though, and it works great. I plan to install a second one in another bathroom. My experience with Luxe customer service has been outstanding, and it is clear that they want all of their customers to be 100% satisfied with their purchase. They have gone out of their way to make sure I have a working bidet and make up for my initial bad experience. So if you have a problem with your Luxe bidet you can rest assured they will make certain your problem is fixed and that you are happy with your new bidet. If you are trying to decide between buying a Luxe and any other company's bidet, I can assure you the truly outstanding customer service from Luxe should make choosing Luxe an easy decision. The Luxe Neo 180 bidet does function extremely well as a bidet and makes toileting more hygienic and comfortable. Our need to use toilet paper has gone way down. You may want to wait until after you install the bidet to see if you need the toilet seat bumpers. If you do you may be able to find them at your local home center, although they are available from Luxebidet.com and will arrive quickly with (currently) free shipping. I do recommend purchasing the optional metal T-adapter as it provides a safeguard against accidental overuse and helps to limit the force of the water spray making for a much more comfortable experience.

I'll just come right out and say it: I love my bidet. I'd never had one before, and I don't think I'd ever even used one before I ordered the Luxe Bidet Neo 180 back in February, but I was lightly acquainted with them all the same. After experiencing an unfortunate bout of bathroom frequency that left certain areas of skin fairly irritated (ahem) this winter, I decided to research them in earnest. I was surprised by the affordability of the conversion kits; after seeing several makes and models in a reasonable price range, I started looking more carefully at reviews and features. There were several contenders I considered at my price point, but in the end I chose the Luxe Bidet Neo 180. I had decided I didn't need hot- and cold-running water lines and the less plumbing I was getting myself into, the better, but the main selling point to me was the dual-nozzle feature. It was the only model I came across in the same price range with this particular feature and this sealed the deal for my purchase. A review from a woman who appreciated having the second jet available really resonated with me and I thought it made great sense. (I admit that this feature may not be terribly helpful for men, but I think other women might appreciate it as much as I do.) I was a little concerned about the reviews stating that they couldn't get the bidet to install properly with their plumbing and/or their existing toilet seats, but I saw similar issues with just about every product out there. I think that if you have a fairly standard toilet setup and seat, you'll be okay. If not, you may run into trouble. Full disclosure: I know nothing about plumbing, but I thought my plumbing looked to be fairly straightforward for this exercise. My toilet seat was a fairly standard model from Home Depot, so I decided to give it a shot. Your mileage may vary. Once ordered, the Luxe Bidet Neo 180 arrived promptly and was decently packaged. No issues there. The box is clean and inviting and the contents are arranged well within it. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and it was pretty easy to see how it should all fit together. I like to think I'm fairly handy (I enjoy putting together furniture) and this didn't seem at all difficult at first glance. The installation itself was easy even without previous plumbing experience. So easy I did it twice, in fact (more on that shortly). Having said that, I can't promise it will be for you; a lot depends on your bathroom layout and how easy it is to get to the pipes you need to work with. At any rate, I had no trouble turning off the toilet's water supply. I had a bit of a time trying to remove the existing water supply line - mostly due to the fact that I didn't have the right wrench for the job initially - but once I got it off I was able to install and assemble the bidet quite quickly. Unfortunately, this attempt was doomed to failure as I had not used waterproof tape on the pipe threads during reassembly, but once my husband acquired some for me (along with a decent wrench), the tear-down, taping, and reinstallation took less than half an hour and worked fabulously. I was in business. USE WATERPROOF TAPE, FOLKS. Learn from my mistake. (That is my only suggestion for improvement for the manufacturer: include a small roll of waterproof tape with the installation kit, and save us the trouble of having to go out and get some when we aren't sure whether or not it's necessary.) Now, some advice for using the bidet: -- Make sure the dial is set to the position you want before you lift that handle. I do use both settings and often forget which one I've left it on. Let me tell you, it is a surprise when the "other" jet kicks in than you were expecting. (And it can lead to a urinary tract infection, ladies, if you get blasted in the wrong spot at the wrong time.) -- Lift that handle SLOWLY. Our water pressure is not good, but when the handle is fully open that little stream of water can pack quite a punch. Sometimes you want this, and sometimes you don't. Just start slowly until the pressure is where you want it to be. Things I like best about the Luxe Bidet Neo 180: -- Affordable price point -- Dual nozzles, for front and back targeting -- Self-cleaning option -- Easy installation with the right tools and knowledge -- The fresh, clean feeling I have after using it. It's starting to ruin "regular" toilets for me and I often find myself wishing there were bidets everywhere. Things I don't like as much about it: -- No waterproof tape included in the kit -- The handle and the arm it's mounted on feel a little delicate to me. I haven't had a problem with it, but I'm worried about the day my 3-year-old son decides to go play with the shiny lever when I'm not paying attention and pulls too hard on something. It just seems like it might be very easy to break (though again, I have never had a problem with it after 6 months of use). Would I buy it again? Yes, absolutely. I would give them as presents if my friends wouldn't think I was a lunatic for doing so. ("It's a what? For your where?") I don't know how well other brands stack up against this one, but I wholeheartedly recommend the Luxe Bidet Neo 180 to anyone out there who would like an affordable, easy-to-install kit that really works. Update 12/20/2021 - still not a single problem or issue with this. no exaggeration this is one of the best purchases we've ever made. Update 3/14/2020 - zero problems! it is now two and a half years since installing this. all i can say is it is one of the best purchases i have ever made. as said no problems at all. i regularly inspect the nozzles to see if they're clean or not? only once in all this time have i noticed any debris. so cleaning never has been an issue. when purchased never imagined a pandemic let alone shortages of TP? i am so glad i got this now. no wonder sales everywhere for bidets has skyrocketed over the past few weeks. Update 1/25/2018 - no problems at all. pain relief is fantastic. i have cut my toilet paper expense down to a fourth what it used to be. i love it. I have suffered from G.I. issues for over two decades. Several surgeries and all the bad stuff. So much to deal with every single day. After my first surgery I looked into a bidet until I saw the cost, a couple thousand dollars and I had to forget about it. End of last year I accidentally read a post by someone who had just got a similar style bidet. I got me thinking so I checked into it again. Pricing was so low I thought it must be some con or a piece of junk that would likely end up in the trash on day one. i read many of the reviews but with so many 'farmed' reviews i was skeptical. thankfully i was proven so very WRONG! I have purchased hundreds of items from amazon over the years, feel free to look. I say that as nothing else purchased has made me happier, improved my overall quality of life and by a long shot. When you suffer with pain daily, hourly, to have any improvement is a big deal. I cannot understate just how much this improves my quality of life. Something so small, so inexpensive and yet has such an impact. I just never could have imagined. Honestly if I’d known all those years ago even priced at a few thousand, I’d have gotten one. So all said this is simple to install. If you can put a toilet seat on you can do this. if you don’t want to? a plumber can come out and do it for you in a few minutes. i purchased a metal t-valve to use with. It comes with a plastic one but metal is better IMHO. I also purchased a second set of bumpers for the toilet seat. Not necessary but that extra 1/8th inch higher makes it look better. The device couldn’t be simpler to use. Just pull the handle like you would with a kitchen faucet, forward and back, that’s it. also you don’t need to adjust the spray heads as the preset is perfect. The main ones work for dealing with #2. The ‘female’ setting on the device lowers the angle to get more up front so to speak. All in all I absolutely could not be happier with this. it not only met my expectations but greatly exceeded them. My pain relief, the paper savings and for so very little money up front on this? If you or someone you care about has G.I. problems having this little wonder will greatly improve quality of life. Nothing you could do other than get a new body could make a bigger difference. *this would be great for someone using a septic system/leech field **one caveat, due to the position of the handle for someone overweight it could pose a problem. frankly it comes down to how wide the derriere is.

(Full Disclosure: this is being written on a product that was given to me for free by the company for the purpose of trying it out. It was completely up to me whether or not to write a review, and what to rate/say. I believe it's fair for you to know that, but also know that I am giving my honest opinion on the product.) I'm a huge fan of bidets. Everyone should be using a bidet. They have been growing in popularity in the States over the past 10 years and this has resulted in their higher availability and more reasonable prices. In my house, the Luxe Bidet Neo 180 is replacing an older model of a Bio Bidet I'd been using for many years. If you already understand the glorious experience of using a bidet, you can probably skip the next section. Why bidets? Let's say you're gardening, and you get dirt on your hands. Before using your hands to put food in your mouth, would it be sufficient to merely wipe them off with a piece tissue paper? At the very least, I imagine, you would want to involve water in this hand-cleansing process in some form or fashion, and ideally, of course, some hand soap. Let's say you fling a handful of peanut butter onto a linoleum floor (although perhaps for many of us, a better analogy might be carpet). You wouldn't wastefully use an unnecessary amount of paper products fruitlessly trying to make everything clean. At some point, some type of liquid is going to be used to make things truly clean. Why is it, then, that American culture does not abide by this principle when it comes to using the bathroom? Even in cultures that might not be considered as technologically advanced, it is usually the case that water, in some way, is provided for one's bathroom experience, whether in a bucket or through a hose. And I can attest that both of those options are better than tissue paper only. When you use a bidet for the first time, you will feel as if you have taken a shower in some glorious elixir. You will feel actually clean, and you will be, for the first time in your life. Why this bidet? So there are are few things that stand out to me, in comparison to most bidets I've used. First and foremost is the increased water pressure. This might depend on your own home, but when I switched my old bidet out for this Luxe Bidet, more water pressure was made available to me, with a better spray pattern. This has been the biggest highlight to me personally. I could dial my old bidet to full blast and....well...suffice it to say that with the Neo 180 (which uses a joystick type mechanism instead of a dial), on your first use, go easy on the throttle or you might get sent through the roof. You get the hang of the controls with time. Next, a problem I had with my old bidet was keeping the nozzles clean. It did, as most standard bidets do, and as this one does, have a self-cleaning setting. What this one has in addition, however, is a shield-type thing over the nozzles that prevents mildew build-up. This plastic covering I think also adds to the overall sleek-looking design. Lastly, I've never had a problem installing bidets, even moving from houses/apartments. You really don't need to be a plumber to hook these things up. This one, however, has been the easiest one I've ever installed. I'm also never going back to using a rubber hose connecting the bidet to the water source. That's how my old one worked, probably because it had a hot water setting. Bidets with a heated water option, if you plan on using that option, will need additional hookup through a sink. I've never done this, nor needed to (but I also take freezing cold showers for fun). The Neo 180 does not have a hot water option, so if your heart (or other body part) is set on heated water, you'll need to find another product or model. What the Neo 180 does have, however, is a steel-braided hose connecting the bidet to the water source. This is what makes the installation so easy. Check out the picture I added to get an idea, and check out all the other customer images and reviews to get some different perspectives. Final Thoughts. Everyone should be using a bidet, whether this one or not. If you can get this one at a reasonable price, I believe it is superior to your other options. I do think that bidets will continue to grow in popularity and acceptance in the States, and with that, probably newer models with features we haven't even thought of yet. Experience the glory.
