I keep the unit next to my dog's bed in the garage near our propane heater. I know propane is supposed to burn clean, but you just don't know if you're not monitoring. This unit feels durable. It's about the size of a hockey puck. Seems like the frame of the device is made of metal, the face and back look like injection molded plastic. Still, if you were to drop it, the plastic has a good chance of hitting the ground, perhaps breaking. The CO detector picked up on a cigarette almost instantly, when held near the detector. I trust it works. The only control is a single button. Don't lose the instructions. I found I only really needed to use the button for power on/off, and bringing the display out of power saving mode were it dims the still visible readings. The included lanyard is cute, but essentially useless. The hook has a flawed design, and won't even clip onto a belt loop. The battery seems to last a long time. So far, I'd say I've had it monitoring for about 10 hours and it still shows a full charge. I'll see how it holds up. The temperature and humidity readings are interesting to know. You don't get those on all the different devices available. It's a nice bonus for me. The display is bright and very easy to read. It dims after some time, still, it is readable. To turn on the bright display only requires a quick tap of the single button control. The audible alarm is attention getting and fairly loud. The magnet is not really strong enough to hold it to smooth metal such as the side of a heater. It will slide right down. Other metal surfaces, it seems to work ok on. Don't fully depend on the magnet to hold it in place 100% of the time. The first one I received rattled, I exchanged it. The second one does not make noise when you move it around.

This CO detector is lightweight, compact, and fits easily into a suitcase without taking up much space. If you travel, this is cheap insurance to ensure your hotel room isn't filling with CO in locales that might not require CO detectors, like the Caribbean. In testing near known CO sources, it works well and is definitely loud enough to get your attention.

I made an initial, brief test for functionality and found that it works as expected. Temperature looked reasonable; humidity probably OK; CO went from 0 to 5ppm for a brief time after a match was snuffed out nearby. The only difficiency is with the AC power plug adapter. It uses a bayonette type mating action. After it clicks in, the plug is still quite loose rotationally and can easily turn enough to break the connection, turning the unit off. It would not be good for steady readings in a vibration environment, without some additional means to keep it from rotating. For my intended application it is not a serious problem, since I don't expect it to be bumped while unattended.

This portable carbon monoxide detector is a life saver, and I mean literally! It has many use cases. Do you want it to be your 1 and only detector for an entire household? No, of course not! Its meant to be portable. Take camping, take into your RV. Take it to a hotel, whatever the case is. I can tell you this, it is coming with me anytime I travel from now on. Its coming to hotels or anywhere else I go! It has a bright LED display. It showcases the carbon monoxide level large and front and center. Then it has the humidity level, temperature, and battery level indicator as well. You can set the PPM detection (parts per million) to a higher or lower value depending on your use case. Its extremely portable, extremely convenient, and it includes a strong magnet that you can use to mount it or a paracord with a carabiner attachment to hang it on a thumb tac or nail etc. The biggest downside is the volume. For the size you knew it would lack somewhere and its the volume at which the alarm goes off at. Its not the loudest. I haven't tested actual dB levels but its not waking up the entire house. Keep it close to you in a hotel for sure. The battery life is great. I find myself charging it once a week for about an hour. It is USB C rechargeable.

This review is for the plug in style CO detector, purchased in a 1 Pack. Initially, this detector worked well and looked good. It's very easy to read and get the info you need at a glance. Unfortunately, the detector died after less than 5 month and now will not power on at all. I've been unable to figure out how to contact the manufacturer and I can no longer return through Amazon. Buyer beware. Update: After submitting my review I was contacted by the seller with an offer to refund my purchase price, or receive a replacement detector free of charge. I chose to replace the detector and a new one was shipped out immediately and received within 2 days. U appreciate the seller standing behind their product. Hopefully the new detector has a longer lifespan.

Practical and very good low budget investment for your families well being and piece of mind. How so you may ask? Recently at 11pm at night our CO2 detector went off~~~ Of course we were alarmed, no pun intended, so we checked all we visually could, but for piece of mind called the fire department. They came out at midnight, had a similar grade commercial grade detector, gave us an ALL CLEAR and let us know we had zero CO2 leaks But the visit was very informative. As we found out our CO2 detector only had a life span of 5-7 years, due to the pattern of the beeps, our unit was extinct. So we bought 2 new detectors and this testing device to be certain we are not or ever in harms way
