When we stumbled on these cruising other items, we knew they were for us. They resemble the jars that are commonly found on the sink areas of examination rooms of doctors and veterinarians. These are good looking small containers that serve a real function. Ok, yes they are smaller, however this is a plus as they will not dominate your countertop. As you see in the picture, we have loaded them with basic essential items, Cotton Swabs, Bandaids, Flossers and Cotton Balls. One of the remaining two will probably have Cotton Pads and we have not determined the use for the last as of yet. In short, we feel they are just about the perfect size for their intended use. I have even toyed with the idea of creating mini tongue depressors just to place in one for looks. It wouldn't be practical but life needs a bit of whimsy here and there. Besides, when the grandkids are over, we could pull out one like we were going to examine them like a true doctor. I am betting this would bring a smile or a giggle and take some of the "sting" out of cleaning/bandaging of minor cuts and scrapes all toddlers are prone to. Other than the good look and the convenient size, I love that the lids feel secure enough when on but lift off without needing to hold the container down. The container may come up a bit off of the counter due to a vacuum effect, however it releases easily enough. This allows for single hand operation when your other hand is full or worse, wet. Even the empty jars release in this fashion. If you are putting an item with a bit more weight than what I have pictured here, it will be even less noticeable. It comes with preprinted labels that would add a nice touch. We will not be using them as we are both a bit OCD and if the labels were to start to look worn, it would detract from the containers. Admittedly, we aren't spring chickens and without our glasses, they would be a soft blur anyway. Best to leave them blank in our case to pick the jar by their contents. I am in no way stating the labels will not age well as I have no evidence to support that either way. Plastic? Yes! I can not even begin to fathom the number of items that have gone crashing to the floor due to setting them too near the edge only to be sent plummeting to its demise. Glass makeup jars are the worst in this scenario. Being plastic, they are more likely to survive the fall and if not, you will not be dancing around glass shards along with the excontents of the container. Being plastic does not detract from the look, although I must concede that they have a distinct probability of hazing over time from minor scratching. This makes the fact you do not have to continually handle them to open them a real plus. Summary: We love the look, we love the size, we support the use of plastic and feel these will suit our needs and then some. A+ ... show more

When I first opened these I was disappointed by how cheap they felt. I used them anyway and they are adorable. Unless you pick them up, they look just like my glass jars, but less likely to break. I thought 6 was too many, but I already have 4 set up and plans for the other 2. I didn't use the stickers as i had my own i wanted to use. ... show more

I love these apothecary jars with black lid, and I thought the sticker (printed words in white with black stickers) will be perfect look for bathroom vanity storage. However, to my disappointment I only received the blank white stickers. It was all crumpled and not neat for sticking onto these jars.

It is nice to have a set of these in an 8oz size and I really like this set. Many sets like this only come in a 4oz to 6oz size. These storage jars are lovely. The jar is plastic (no glass at all) but it's a 100% clear, defect free plastic. The lids are a pretty, very shiny plastic and are fingerprint resistant if not totally fingerprint proof. I tested for fingerprints with clean dry hands, and I couldn't make a fingerprint anywhere...bottom or top. I ordered the set of four, but you are given the option of ordering sets of two, four or six. That's a huge plus and the sets are priced very reasonably. It's actually a great deal! I guess if I had to point out something it would be that the lids don't simply pop off with one hand. I have yet been able to take off the lid with one hand. I wouldn't mention that fact but it does state in the description that the reason it is not a screw on top is so you can take the top off with one hand. It's not a big deal and I am hoping after a while the lid will loosen up a bit. The lids are not tight by any means, but they are a snug fit.
