Best part about this gate for me is how it shuts automatically after passing thru, kinda like the gates they have for public pools. I have 4 cats and LG shepherd I have to keep separate from. The gate is nice exactly as described very easy to install. I think my doorway was at the very limit of the one that I had ordered and they had said that if it’s mismeasured, don’t send it back to email them and they would send you the extender to make it fit. I did email them. They did take my information. They said they sent something, but I never received anything that all being said I found a workaround the gate works wonderfully the cats can’t jump over it. You can get through it from either direction and it keeps my dogs out of the area now if the dogs which are bigger dogs push on the gate hard enough, they can push it open, but they don’t so we haven’t had any issues the not receiving the package is the reason I took one star off but other than that it’s a nice gate.

Works perfectly and it’s easy to set up and heavy duty. Love the self close and lock. Fits in the door with ease. Does come with 2 sizes of adjustable legs so I had to use the short ones. It’s safe for my cats to keep them out of the room. And durable finish is fantastic.

This gate is a lifesaver for our family. We recently rescued a stray cat and used this gate to acclimate the new stray cat with our resident cats. It worked wonderfully for the introduction they were able to see each other and play each with other through the gate. It kept all six of our cats safe during the process. We have very sneaky and athletic cats and none of them were able to get through this gate or jump over the 55” gate. Fantastic for keeping cats out of rooms, if needed. The gate is extremely high-quality and sturdy. I never felt like my animals’ safety was in jeopardy because of the quality. I appreciate that the gate swings both inward and outward for ease of use.

If you live in an old house like me where the doorframes aren't the modern standard, this is possibly your ONLY option for something like this, especially a gate as tall as this. It's not terrible. It's not great either. The criticisms: - The gate works, but it's flimsy, and the problem with that is it stays in place via tension. Trick is, the tension you need to actually keep it in place deforms the gate so the door won't open correctly. You're always going to risk slippage, which may or may not be an issue for you, but again, here's the thing; my doorways are very narrow so I had to get the really small one, 26ish inches wide. I'm constantly pushing against it as I go through which makes it slip. The cats won't be able to move it and get out, but what was supposed to make my life more convenient has just added another miserable thing I have to contend with. - The pads they give you to protect your wall are hot garbage. I strongly suggest you just find some self adhesive RUBBERIZED pads to use in place of them. That MIGHT alleviate some of the previous point's criticism. - The latch is...not built for the long haul. It's GOING to break. It's all plastic junk, which for $100 is kind of unacceptable. No hedging the bet on this one, that's a party foul, Lumizone. No dessert for you. - Installation is a beast. It's not a complicated install, but actually getting those bolts to stay still while you try to rotate the cuff which actually extend or retract them made me say words Amazon won't allow me to post. So...is it bad? I mean...it's meh. It's NOT terrible, and again, if you struggle with a preposterously old house like I do, it might be your ONLY option. I looked and looked and looked and couldn't find anything else to fit. But at a minimum, it should have used metal parts in the lock and it should have had the sides braced so they don't compress when you screw it into place. Those are both material/engineering failures and I simply cannot give it more stars while they remain. I don't recommend, I also don't warn away. It's a serviceable product that could have been excellent.

This gate is sturdy, made of metal not vinyl, with safety spacing between the slats. It was incredibly easy to install in my bedroom doorway. I didn’t need the width extension bars which are included. Its height is perfect. Much too tall for most cats to jump. Just make sure there isn’t any furniture or boxes near the gate for a cat to use as a stepping stone to jump over the top. The gate portion opens and stays open without it slamming back into you. The latch which locks the gate works fine with a push of your thumb. Locks from outside and inside. They even provide a rubber floor protector that slides on the bottom rail to prevent damaging wooden floors (I have carpeting). The only possible potential long term problem may be the plastic gate lock. Repeated use (I’ve only had mine a couple of weeks) might loosen up the connection so that it doesn’t click into the locked position. Being handy, I could work around this issue, if it should arise. I’m very glad I chose this one instead of the numerous others I was considering. No screws into the wall or door frame - it works by tightening large thick screws with rubber pads attached at the ends. They even include doodads that you can place on the wall or doorway to prevent the securely tightened bolts from marring the wall or doorway. Plus the price was quite reasonable and delivery was fast. Good work, Lumizone!
