So for this product the maple in the mix is 100% maple; hickory 100% hickory; cherry 100% cherry Almost all brands use up to 80% filler hardwood so only 20% is the actual stated hardwood. Traeger is 100% filler hardwood with "flavor oil" added back in. Most brands are very clever in their wording. "100% hardwood" is NOT 100% of the specified wood for most.     • Great flavor.
Its burning speed is slightly faster than that of oak pellets with spice oil, but this sacrifice is worth it in order to achieve that flavor. It is highly suitable for roasting chicken, steak and pork, but I haven't tried using it to roast fish yet.

The package arrived with pellets spilling out of the box. The bag appeared to be cut open. I received half a bag, and no option for a refund.
