Description

Tortex Picks are highly durable with great memory and just the right amount of flexibility for a snappy, fluid attack that's bright and crisp. Whether you're playing searing electric leads or strumming acoustic passages, the appeal of Tortex as a sonic paintbrush is universal. From the Manufacturer First released in 1981, Tortex® Picks were originally intended to be a high quality replacement for tortoiseshell. Jim Dunlop's trail-blazing creation became so much more than that, however, establishing its own identity and becoming the new standard by which all other picks are judged. Building on the precision, consistency, and color-coded gauge system he introduced with Nylon Picks, Jim resolved to create a pick with a bright and snappy attack, superior memory and durability, and an improved grip. He chose Delrin as his base material and then spent more than a year developing a special treatment process to draw out its full potential. This treatment process is what sets Tortex Picks apart from all others, providing their unique grip-enhancing matte surface and aggressive attack. Finally, Jim expanded on his previous picks' color-coded gauge system to create the bright and timeless palette that has become an industry standard. Because we stick to Jim's original formula, Tortex Picks remain our bestselling pick line. And we still make them at the Dunlop HQ in Benicia, California. With Tortex, Jim Dunlop launched a revolution, and the world of picks has never been the same. The turtle logo is instantly recognizable, and the vibrant Tortex palette has become a gauging shorthand for guitar players. Go into any music store and ask for Green or Yellow Picks—chances are, you'll be shown a pack of Tortex .88mm or .73mm Picks. Countless musicians across the world, representing every genre and playing style, have chosen Tortex Picks to help them do what they love. Made in the USA.

  • Best bang for your buck
Style: 24 Pack Size: 0.73 mm Color: Yellow
These picks feel really good to play with. The 0.73mm thickness is a nice middle ground—not too stiff but not super floppy either. They have a good grip and work well for both strumming and picking. The tortoise design is a nice touch too. Definitely happy with them.

  • The best pick made
Style: 24 Pack Size: 0.50 mm Color: Red
I've used these picks for at least 35 years. Great value and long lasting. Wouldn't switch for any other pick even if given for free!

  • Durable and feel great in your fingers
Style: 24 Pack Size: 1.00 mm Color: Blue
These picks are my all-time workhorse favorites. The last forever, and the texture is super-satisfying. The texture also helps with grip. I also appreciate the decent pricing considering that all of my guitar picks generally end up partying somewhere with my missing socks and hairbands. Been using Dunlop for years and doubt I will ever change unless they do. So far so good. ... show more

  • Best pick out there (in my opinion)
Style: 24 Pack Size: 0.50 mm Color: Red
Perfect pick! ..In my humble opinion. I play only thrash metal for the last 40yrs so I know picks. I annihilate picks in one or two rounds.. literally there's pieces everywhere. This pick here, the first one inused, is still hanging on.. since I bought this a month ago. This thing might be invincible haha. I highly recommend if your a metal player! ..or not. ... show more

  • Awesome Guitar picks!

Great picks work extremely well on my Gibson Les Paul between the shorter scale Gibson neck and the 10-46 strings work wonderfully!

  • My favorite pic
Style: 24 Pack Size: 0.73 mm Color: Yellow
This is a pic and it is all preference. I like this one because it gives a little and what it’s made of is a better grip than other plastic I also like the tone of it

  • My favorite guitar pick
Style: 24 Pack Size: 1.00 mm Color: Blue
These 1 mm tortex picks are by far my favorite guitar picks. However, while there texture is pleasing it is a bit slippery for gripping the pick. I've found though that it you use a knife or something sharp to rough it up, it creates superb grip. It makes me wish they sold them pre-roughed up instead of me having to worry about losing a finger lol. ... show more
