    • Pops off when I lean back at all
I purchased this replacement back-rest in mid-2021. I didn't use the chair much back then, but then I moved it to a home office, where I use it a great deal. But about once or twice a day, I lean back and relax -- not hard, just relaxing my lower spine in a normal way -- and this replacement lumbar support piece just pops off of its "railings" in a surprising jolt. The two small tube-like railings that run down the back of the chair are designed so that this lumbar rest piece can be placed wherever the small of your back is. But even when I position it on what looks like the sturdiest segment of the railings, this piece comes off the rails and pops off to the floor. The tubular holes in this lumbar support piece are too large, and come unclamped from the railings. I really like my Aeron chair, but this replacement part makes it an opponent rather than a friend to comfort and relaxation. Very frustrating.     • Perfectly fine except for one major flaw (now fixed)
Edit 2: The new product has arrived and is so far effective. It no longer pops off. Seems slightly less firm than the other one I ordered from OfficeLogix, but that could be a pro or con depending on what you prefer. Edit 1: The seller has offered to send me a newer version of the product. Apparently the newer mold has thicker tines on the clips making the issue I experienced less likely. I will update this review after I have received and tested the newer product. For now, I have improved the rating for the quick and helpful support that I received. The plastic clips that hold the pad in place are just barely too flexible. If you lean back too hard (even if just while shifting position or as you're sitting down), the whole thing pops off. If it happened once in a blue moon, I wouldn't mind so much, but it happens just often enough that I am going to have to return the item and search for an alternative. Also, considering I'm only 140 lbs, I imagine that anyone heavier than me would have this issue even more often. ... show more

    • Poor fit and quality
While it installed easily, unlike the original it doesn't grip the rails so it constantly slides up and down. Then, after 3 months, it's already separating at the seam on one side. I can't recommend it.

Ends broke off after two months of use. The original lasted 20 years.

    • Only stays on in one direction, slides around
A little too much divergence from the original design/materials, only seems to work when put on in the 'more support' direction where it slides out of place.
