So disclaimer I have the light blocking, cellular shades, if I had mini blinds I think these would work better. The plastic guards are very nice, well made and sturdy. The issues I had was with the magnetic strips. I think it's a little over kill. They did not stick to well to the wall or plastics. And most of the light got in where the magnetics did not fit. I think a 2x tape or foam tape would be better for this application. When I pair the plastics guards with my blinds and curtains most of the light is blocked. I think this is a good idea for older homes or rooms with a lot of light bleadover. ... show more

Light Blocker? Not really.... Lets in a warm orange glow instead. I would not recommend this product unless you want orange light.

These did not block any side window light for me. And they kept falling down. I wouldn’trecommend. I just got double sided tape and restored the curtains to the wall. Much more effective

In theory this is awesome but it just doesn’t stick so unless you are willing to permanently adhere this to your window frame I would pass on it. Had I not have already cut the panels I would have returned it.

I was happy I ended up getting the 59 inch long blockers. Because I ended up using them all to block out all four sides of my windows. The roller shades I got allowed a decent gap at the top, as well as a bigger than expected side gaps. I did have to add a little block of wood to the sides so the plastic blockers would cover the sides correctly. I am really happy with the finished product. You get a lot of adhesive magnetic strips for your wall, and the plastic blockers. Doing my windows and using the strips I still had two rolls left I did not use. Cutting the plastic was very easy, I ended up using a coping saw to cut the plastic. Overall I'm really happy that I ended up getting these for my shades. ... show more

I ordered these to install on first floor windows in my garage for PRIVACY, not light blocking. I noticed a kid peeking into my garage one day and it bothered me that you could see something when the shades were down (not tightly fitted to the sides). These added the privacy I wanted. Install is dead simple, but I did use my own tape which sticks very well and will remove without damage. They DO NOT fully block light. If that's your use case, perhaps not the best option. Would I pay my own money for it? Yes, they solved my PRIVACY problem. ... show more

These light blocking channels work well, are easy to install, and are great for smaller windows. If you have really tall or large windows it would be better to use a longer type as there are too many joints. I used them to make a "frame" on the sides of my window unit, then made a panel of styrofoam covered with fabric to slip behind the light blockers so it covers the cheap accordion style side wings.
