Overall this mower definitely beat my expectations. Pre-purchase: Was looking at robotic mowers for a few years. The gaps were always the same - couldn’t handle shaded yards or you needed to lay a wire. I was not going to lay a wire for a 1.6 acre yard. No thanks. Saw that the Luba2 could handle the shade using AI vision. Excited for the solution, but VERY skeptical. Mower Arrival: My plan was to get this going as soon as I could, believing that it probably wouldn’t work in my yard. There was a 30 day return clock ticking, so needed to figure it out pretty quickly. Assembly: Came packaged very well and with simple instructions. Took me about a 1/2 hour to assemble. I didn’t have a lot of time that first day, so I just thought I’d get it set up outside and make it move. Anchored the GPS and docking station. Phone App: Teaching the mower where to go and not go was very easy. I didn’t have much time, but ended up getting it done in my short time frame. I do not know why the app gets such a low score in the ITunes Store. It’s not the best app in the world, but I found it fairly easy to use and not many glitches. Mowing: Split my lawn into 4 sections. It does a great job with the lawn! It is going around while I am working during the day. I only need to do any trimming and weed whacking. I make it go manually each time, because I worry about a UPS or Amazon truck coming in the driveway and hitting it. I have spent very little time mowing this year! Mowing Quality: It can take a very long time to mow compared to other methods. The width is small, so it takes a long time. It has to recharge in the middle of my largest section, so that can take most of the day. Just need to understand that and do not expect it to be quick. The mower makes very nice lines in the yard. They are very close together, so something to be aware of if you are used to wide lines. You can adjust the mowing height in the app and have it move diagonally or other options each time you mow. My neighbors have commented several times on how nice of a job it does. My wife is happy, because the yard “is always mowed”. I have it mow about 2 times per 10 days or so. Leaves: The mower does not handle leaves well, so be prepared for other ways to handle. I knew this going into the purchase, so I was not disappointed. I usually mulch my leaves, so I still mow manually when the leaves are coming down to get them chopped up. Maintenance: The blades are basically razor blades. They have lasted most of the mowing year with a need to change. Also looks like it just uses one side, so I should be able to flip the blades around and not have to replace them yet. Other than that, just need to keep it clean. Pretty easy to clean it. If you do not clean the charging connection, then at some point it will not charge. Long term: This is the first mowing year, so we will see how it acts next Spring after being in storage all winter. Will update this review as needed.

For specific specs, please visit the manufacturer's website. We purchased the Luba 2 3000H model after a medical incident caused by mowing on a hillside. We chose this brand and model because of other reviews and videos on YouTube, specifically this model, since it can cut grass up to 4 inches high and can handle our hillside. Thus far, this mower has exceeded our expectations regarding mowing quality, ease of use, and function. The programming of the yard was the hardest task, and this was easily accomplished and many of the common problems are already documented on their website. In reviewing the specs for each model of mower, we chose the one capable of cutting taller grass up to 3.9 inches and sized for our lot. It is set for 3 inches, and the cut is uniform and level. The two cutting disks do, at times, need to be cleaned out due to grass cuttings that may clump up on the underside. This is nothing that occurs frequently and is similar to our old gas engine mower deck. Also, Luba can not cut wet grass very well. Again, it is no different from our gas-powered mower. The mower is very quiet, and while it could run at night, we prefer to limit the operation to during the daytime. The mower will cut leaves and small twigs but not branches. When it gets stuck, it will shut down and notify you for rescue. You must rescue Luba from wherever they got stuck and allow Luba to continue from the breakpoint. The mower will return on its own when necessary for charging and pick up where it left off. The FPV or First Person Viewer allows you to view the mower as it moves through the yard while cutting grass - Awesome tool to assess issues when it gets stuck. Now, some drawbacks: -No-go zones must be set up. This is easy, but it may take you a few times to set up if you need to leave sufficient space or want to edit to get closer to the area's border. Price. Well, for us, it was cheaper than riding or zero-turn, but we got cool points from fellow neighbors. -It may chew up grass in front of the docking station as it spins to line up. It may also chew the grass around no-go zones if it is set on zero-spin rather than multi-point turns. I hope this helps.

It’s not as good as doing the work yourself but it’s very good for what it does. It’s been working for weeks and I’ve only had to “save” it a few times but generally it’s very good about doing its tasks. The only reason I’ve had to help it was due to my layout. Once I fixed it, it was fine. The best part, the time it saves me from weekly yard work. It handles my 1+ acre yard with a decent slope with out issue. Just maintain it, clean it and it does the rest. Oh, of course you have to edge the yard but that’s nothing compared to the time it used to take me. I feel it’s worth the investment and it’s a solid product. Setup was quick as well.

Took the plunge after lawn company treated our yard like a racetrack in the rain.... Been using the 500HX for a month and we are very happy. It's not completely hands off - occasional babysitting needed as we perfect the RTK placement, but cut quality is great, and the lawn appears healthier than it was (could be imagination at work). Cutting every other day seems to be a sweet spot for our yard.. (Northern midwest in US). Delivery was fast (Fedex), no damage, easy to set up. App is pretty intuitive. The only thing I wish would be better is ability to handle inside 90 degree corners better, and also in-app map editing would be very helpful. Had one interaction with customer service via Amazon contact seller functionality, and they were responsive and friendly - resolved the issue quickly. This is the future of lawn care... If you are using a lawn service, it pays for itself over the course of a season or so....
