I ordered four of these, to get the bird feeders away from my deck rails. I wanted to be able to have the feeders where I could see them easily, but not have bird poop or seed constantly raining down on my deck. These worked exactly as suggested, and are easy to adjust or move. There are four screw holes for each hanger, so the plates can adjust to any spacing of the bars in the deck rail. They hold the ends almost four feet away from the rail, keeping droppings and seed clear, but they are easy to swing back for maintenance. I have a metal railing on my front porch where I wanted these to go and the rails are just far enough apart that I had to put it on one section rather than in between. When assembling the poles they just never lined up correctly, but then I noticed two smaller washers that fit on the poles and one of them I had to use two washers between the sections to get the pole situated correctly, on the other, two made it even more off so I just used one. If you're doing this similar to me, you're going to need a pair of pliers too so you can tighten it all down really good. This is much better than the poles I had tied to the railings with garden wires. Let's hope the next wind storm we get doesn't undo what I just did! So far I'm very happy. ... show more

These hooks do the job that I need them to do. The birds were making a mess on my balcony so I wanted to get a hook that angles the feeders away from the balcony and patio below. However, with three screws (two for the wood attachment and then one for the metal rod) the hooks can sometimes become off balance or squeak. And pivoting the hook for feeder refills is tricky. I would not recommend for someone who struggles with accessibility. But, it's working for me needs and overall worth the purchase. ... show more
