UPDATE; 11/15/20 THIS ROOF RACK DOES NOT FIT SECURLY ON MY MAZDA-3. THE FOOT BASES DON'T FIT SECURLY IN THE ROOF SLOT SO WHEN YOU TIGHTEN THE SIDE CLAMPS THE FOOT SLIPS OUT AND THE RCK IN NOT SECURE AND WILL NOT HOLD TIGHTLY ON THE ROOF. MUST RETURN THIS PRODUCT; WAITING FOR SELLER TO PROVIDE A RA# AND RETURN SHIPPING INFO. THIS IS NOT A PRIME ITEM SO IT'S GOING TO COST ME TO RETURN IT. Seams like a nice sturdy product but haven't put it on the car yet. Installation instruction leave a little to be desired; It comes with 3 sets of side clamps #6, #4, and # 10 but there is no listing of which one of these clamps fits what type of vehicle. I mean really, would it be that hard for the manufacturer to provide a sheet with a listing of cars that the number clamp fits on??? Heck just print the listing on the back of the installation sheet; Very unprofessional in my view. I just put 1 together so I'll do the "trial and error" method to find the right clamp for my Mazda-3 before assembling the second bar. Also, it comes with 4 other rubber pads that are not shown on the diagram or parts listing, they must be for under the side clamps once you figure out which one of them to use! The assembly views also don't show any of the washers on the diagram; I just put one of each on every bolt and hand nut, there are enough in the package to do that.     • Started to rust after one week on vehicle
I managed to fit this rack to the roof of my 2002 Honda Civic with little difficulty. I didn’t want to put anything on the rails until I knew it was on there sturdy and was not going to fall off. After one week I was about to install my snowboard attachement but I noticed that the washers provided and a couple of the wrap around clamps were starting to rust.     • Tollerances are all over the place.
The rubber feet easily fall off because the retaining holes are bigger than the rubber you push through them, the end caps are much larger than the rails and will not stay in place without modification or gluing and the bolts that attach the door bracket to the stand offs are so short that it has to ride on the corner of the gutter and requires some shim stock to prevent body damage. ('04-'09 Mazda 3, 4-door or 5-door). My kit also came with a bunch of substituted parts. This is not something I would leave on the vehicle from day to day. Put it on when it is needed and take it off as soon as you reasonably can. For the amount I will be using it, it's tolerable; but I wouldn't buy another. It's worth paying the extra $30-$40 for a more permanent solution. ... show more

    • DO NOT BUY - Endangered My Life & Property Damaged
I followed the instructional video and installed the rack perfectly. I placed my surfboard on it and went my way merrily. It started whistling at 30 mph but I didn't mind it since I listen to my music very loudly. On the highway at 60 mph, my surfboard and the rack flew onto the highway and almost hit the car behind me. My $400 surfboard got damaged badly. I had to quickly retrieve my board from the right lane of the highway while cars and I try to avoid each other and the board. Dangerous isn’t the right word. I told the customer service team about this and they offered me a refund along with this disclaimer..."Our installation video is only for reference and we do require professional installation by certified installers for all our items. LT sport will not responsible for any damaged caused by abuse, misuse, improper handling, loss, accident, alternations, neglect, disassemble or improper installation." Their how-to-install video never once said anything about professional installation. Final words, I don't like writing bad reviews but endangering my life and damaging my property is where I draw the line. Fix your product by reading customer reviews and go back to the drawing board. ... show more

Even though time to send it back has expired I am going to try and send it back. Does not explain where the four self adhesive patches go, only hooks that work seem to be the small ones and they go all the way up on the rack, after tightening knobs rack slides back and forth on top of car. We followed all directions for my 2004 Mazda 3. We took it back off because we were afraid to use it, afraid it would come off the car. Do Not Buy! Do Not Buy!     • Cheap Materials and Bad Designs

This rack is made up of material that is too cheap for what it is doing. One of the specialized screws I received was defective and needed manipulation in order to not ruin the threads of the handle. My other complaint is that the handles on the rack whistle like crazy! It is audible with all my windows up going 45 mph. It was also a pain to put on and I won't trust the way it secures with much weight. ... show more

Assembled as instructed. Frame shifts around and even with the pads and coating on the metal, it will still scratch your car on the first time using.

I was hesitant to buy these, but so far they have worked great. I needed a missing piece and it was shipped promptly by the seller. I've attached a kayak J-hook and have carted my kayak around several times. Very pleased!
