The media could not be loaded. We recently purchased the 10 x12 version of the pergola. It took us roughly 6 hours just me and my husband (mostly my husbandšŸ˜Š). We followed the instructions but did not use power tools at the start and it could have shaved off time. Should you encounter bolts not biting through the thread, this is a minor issue as there were some short thread bolts. We replaced them with slightly longer ones, and it will solve the issue. The type of bolt is called M6 x10 that we used instead of the M6x8 bolt that came with the pergola. Other than that issue, the assembly is relatively easy, just more parts to put together. Ideally, you may need 3 people when attaching the beam and the post, but if you have a way to secure the posts to stay upright (us, we tied it to our deck rail just so it does not wobble) you can achieve this with 2 people. We can say this pergola is well built. It looks amazing and we are very happy how it was engineered being engineers ourselves. We didn't have any missing or broken parts. They interlock together when closed so we know rain won't go through. BTW, we noticed the middle beam is slightly inclined higher than the side beams which makes sense if the intention is to direct rainwater to the sides. There are 2 louver controls making it convenient to open and close whichever side you want. We now spend a lot of time on our deck because of the shade it provides. Seller support is excellent; they are very responsive and that is a big plus. Overall, we highly recommend this product. We have done extensive research on different pergolas, and this one has met all our expectations. For the price, it is well worth it given how you can use it year round. Go for it! ... show more

It's a nice pergola. I didn't realize how low it would be. It's not quite as tall as traditional pergolas. I guess it doesn't matter because I will be sitting most of the time. Definitely a great addition to the back yard.

The media could not be loaded. 12 x 16 has drainage flaw. Smaller version should be fine. I was very excited about this pergola because the overall aesthetic is beautiful and the powder-coated finish looks high quality. Before you buy, consider these points. (1) Installation was not smooth. Hate assembling ikea furniture? This is similar, but on steroids. (2) All the boxes were delivered together but multiple panels were bent. It may seem like a small dent in the picture but the consequence is that certain panels now get ā€œstuckā€ and other ones make a loud cranking noise when you open them. (3) Most importantly, the 12x16 version has a major drainage design flaw. The roof panels are not tapered in the correct direction. Instead of sloping toward the gutters, the structure is lowest in the center. As a result, water pools in the middle during rain and then overflows the gutters instead of draining properly through the intended channels. We now have the equivalent of a water fountain right in the middle of this pergola when it rains. This is not a minor cosmetic issue in my opinion, it defeats the purpose of having an integrated gutter system. Standing water increases the risk of staining, long-term corrosion, and structural stress. Iā€™m also seeing more mosquitoes. I will be reaching out to the manufacturer to strongly recommend they address the roof pitch and drainage design before others purchase the 12 x 16. I was not able to dissemble to return otherwise it would be gone. Iā€™m now going to have to pay to get this removed which is such a shame. I will update this post with a video during the next rainfall. UPDATE APRIL 2026 - Seller reached out to me based on this review and offered me $80 partial refund (i paid $2000) for the fact that it doesnā€™t drain properly, ruined my fire pit and is now going to cost me money to dissemble and remove. Well constructed pergola. When assembling pay attention to the orientation of the holes for the cranks to operate the slats. I made the mistake and had to correct it.

We purchased this pergola for our new deck, and weā€™re very happy with it!
