Your browser does not support HTML5 video. OK, first things first: the floor protectors do protect the floor. Having said that... The floor protectors arrived rolled up in a 8.5" x 8" x 37" box. The instructions stated that I was to unroll the protector and weigh it down to flatten it, preferably in the sun. So, I laid it out in my south-facing dining room (in direct sunlight) in the morning before leaving for work, weighed down with about 25 lbs per corner. That evening when I returned, it had flattened out -- not completely, but usable. I put it under my office chair and sat down -- so far, so good. Then I got up. This thing is as slippery as a politician! It slid out from under my feet, and if I hadn't grabbed the desk I would have fallen...HARD. See the video for an example...a light shove, and this thing goes sliding away. I don't know if this is the same for all hardwood floor protectors...but this one is dangerous. ... show more

This floor mat is a good size. The pic is a bit cheezy, because it's a graphic image, rather than an actual image (I went ahead and added a real one). Nonetheless, don't let that stop you from buying this one. It was rolled up in a large box, so keep in mind it is TOUGH to unroll in cold winter, but once I got a box on each corner, the room temp flattened it and probably will do more over time. It's completely clear with a bit of texture to the top to prevent slipping and scuff marks, but not too much to make the wheels of your chair noisy when you roll around. it is also 60 mm in thickness, so it is NOT flimsy and should last a good time. I have wide old wood floor boards and my office chair was doing some damage. I couldn't bear to watch it any further and they are now protected to last another 100 years! The great part is this vinyl mat is nonphthalate, noncadmium and BPA-free plastic, and you can tell when you open the box and unroll it - There was NO chemical "knock you out" smell. Big bonus for me. Against the prices of some others that were comparable, this was the best. Even better, I didn't have to go an office supply, roll it up, purchase it, manipulate it into my car and all the other inconveniences of getting something like this home...arrived at my door! After months of using these mats under our office chairs, the hardwood floor under the mats is damaged. Sand grains and dust accumulate under the mats even with periodic cleaning and the mats are like sand paper. Imagine a sand paper mat over wood floors. Any small movement of the mat and you are sanding down your floors. Buying these was a huge mistake. I will buy new rollers for the office chairs and bypass using mats to avoid further damage. ... show more

Could not get waves and krinkles out of it no matter what I tried. Tried heat, soaked in hot water in tub, took it out, placed on flat floor with 1 inch plywood on it for hours. Krinkles and waves returned within 20 minutes. Wife got tired of it and threw it away.

Extremely slippery on my laminate flooring. I am worried I may seriously injure myself if I keep using this because I have slipped on it about 3 times in the 1 day I've had it. I put one corner under the leg of a desk and the other under a carpet but i still find it slipping. I suppose there are other means to keep it from slipping but I'm not happy with this. I'm not used to having a floor like this - just moved. ... show more

Very good size, we didn’t have any issues with the mat staying flat on the floor. Only conn is that it doesn’t stay in place on tiled floor and doesn’t have any rigidity at the bottom to aid keeping in place. However fixed that issue with pieces of double sided clear tape.

This is a sturdy, good-looking mat for hardware floors. It not only protects my hardwood floor, but also makes it easier to roll my office chair around. It's clear, but not crystal clear, having a textured surface on one side and a smooth surface on the other. The mat is delivered rolled up with instructions on unrolling. It has a very low odor that completely dissipated within two days. Because I ordered during warm weather, I was able to put the mat out on my deck, under weights and the sun. This mat slides very easily on hard floors. It's extremely unsafe. I have others that are safe and secure - this product is not usable.
