  • Awesome Printer!
Size: LK5 Pro
The media could not be loaded. I am a newbie to 3D printing. This was my first venture into the 3D realm and was looking for a good quality printer for a reasonable price. The Longer LK 5 Pro was the best decision I have made! The package was the best of anything I have ever gotten online. Packaged very securely in foam as seen in my first picture. Everything was well thought out by this company. Hardware and tools needed for assembly were supplied, with the screws neatly packaged individually and labeled to match the instructions so you knew exactly what screws to use. It also came with a small bag of "Extra Parts" which I later found out was a filament feeder, a strain relief and 2 small caps which I have yet to figure out where they go. These are not listed on the instruction sheet, but videos are provided on the USB drive. Instructions were intelligent and well written. There was one printing error I found, but I figured it out easily. To keep this short, I'll list my Pros & Cons: Pros: Well packaged. Very good instructions, and there are YouTube videos that you can watch as well on assembly. I had trouble reading some of the instructions, simply because of the small print in some sections (my problem, not theirs). The unit is 90% pre-assembled, the rest is not difficult to assemble when following the instruction sheet. The printer can be operated as a stand alone, meaning you can load the files onto the micro SD card (provided), and load them into the printer. There IS a printer port if you wish to direct connect the printer to a computer, but it is not necessary. The USB/micro SD is loaded with Cura as well as several small projects for you to begin printing. Included in the package, is a small amount of filament for you to print your first item. The control panel is a touch screen panel, which I really like, and it is easy to navigate. My last picture is a short video of how quiet this unit is. The only noise it make is from the cooling fan. Cons: Not many, and they are more of suggestions. 1. Please don't put the reminder sticker OVER the voltage switch. (As seen in my 2nd pic). That switch should be easily accessible. 2. The supplied putty knife should be made of plastic. NOT metal. We are working with a glass bed and it certainly does not need to be scratched. All in all, you cannot go wrong buying this printer. I am presently printing my first item from their supplied file. While it is not yet completed, from what I am seeing, the build is very clean and smooth. I can hardly wait for it to be complete so I can play some more. The only issues I had on assembly, other than the small print, was getting an error 9 message when I attempted to level the bed. I found that one of my connectors was not fully seated. Easy fix. The other was not getting the filament fed into the unit far enough for it to start printing. Both, beginners errors.. I am one HAPPY lady! **UPDATE** Added my first test print.... LOVE this printer!! ... show more

  • A Perfect Blend of Simplicity and Versatility - A 3D Printing Gem!
Size: LK5 Pro
I recently purchased the Longer LK5 Pro 3D printer, and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations in every aspect. As a beginner in the world of 3D printing, I was looking for a machine that offered a seamless setup process without compromising on the potential for customization. The LK5 Pro has proven to be the perfect balance between user-friendly design and advanced modding capabilities. Setting up the printer was a breeze – the clear and concise instructions made the assembly process quick and hassle-free. Within no time, I had the printer up and running, producing high-quality prints with impressive precision. The user interface is intuitive, making it easy for beginners like myself to navigate through the settings and start printing right away. What truly sets the LK5 Pro apart is its versatility. For users who are new to 3D printing, the out-of-the-box experience is fantastic. The printer comes calibrated, saving time and effort typically spent on fine-tuning. The enclosed build chamber helps maintain a stable temperature, contributing to consistent print quality. On the other hand, the LK5 Pro is a dream for experienced users who enjoy tweaking and customizing their machines. The open-source nature of the firmware allows for extensive modifications, making it a canvas for those who love to push the boundaries of 3D printing. Whether you want to upgrade the hotend, add a new cooling system, or experiment with different materials, the LK5 Pro provides the flexibility to do so. Print quality is outstanding, and the large build volume opens up possibilities for creating more significant and intricate prints. The printer's sturdy construction and reliable performance make it a standout choice for both beginners and seasoned 3D printing enthusiasts. In conclusion, the Longer LK5 Pro 3D printer is a fantastic investment for anyone looking to embark on their 3D printing journey or elevate their existing skills. Its user-friendly setup and interface make it accessible for beginners, while the modding potential satisfies the cravings of experienced users. • Works fine, but probably not the best first printer.
Size: LK5 Pro
I bought this as a second printer to experiment with upgrades, and to have a larger build volume than my Prusa Mini. It set up pretty easily, most of the work of assembly is already done. The paper instructions are written in pretty good English. I will suggest getting the BLTouch probe kit straight off, as manual bed leveling is a bit of a chore. There are videos and guides online, however, that help with getting this first step sorted out. The printer comes with an antique version of Cura, I would suggest discarding this, and downloading the latest free version of Cura; there is a profile already available for the LLK5Pro in the newest version as of this writing. In my testing, the slicer that comes with the printer did not do a good job, and simply switching to Cura solved most of my issues. My first print stuck to the glass bed so hard it felt like I was going to slice my hand open trying to pry it loose with the supplied steel putty knife. I'm already spoiled by the flexible steel sheet on the Prusa, so I ordered the Fysetc build setup https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0861N8FH5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 which went on easily, and works brilliantly. There is a self adhesive magnetic base that goes on your heated bed, and the pei coated steel sheet pulls off so you can just flex it, and your model pops right off. Despite the obvious issues I had, I'm not going to ding any stars. I knew going in that this was going to take a little bit of messing with to get it working how I wanted, and the print quality is really good, now. I like the hotend on it, it is very similar to a dragonfly in appearance. Now I have a printer I'm not afraid to modify as needed, which has a rather large build volume. ... show more
