Nice idea for a toaster, and the slim size was a good fit. After just a few weeks though, the return 'pop up' mechanism occasionally got caught in the down position. A few weeks later the return stopped working all together, which is not only inconvenient, but dries out the toast if you are not right there to get dig it out a fork. We were just past the Amazon return limit of 30 days, so we contacted the company for a warranty repair. Still waiting for a return email or phone call weeks later. I wanted a toaster with a wide slot because while I only toast one piece of bread at a time, I usually buy artisan bread and it never fit into the single slot of my old toaster. I'd have to toast one half and then flip it over to toast the second half. This toaster toasts the wide slices without any problems. It is large - reminds me of a boom box - but I think it's attactive. I thought the concept of the toast sliding out onto a tray was interesting and innovative. In my old toaster I often had to use wooden tongs to fish the toast out if it was narrow and occasionally my toaster would eject the toast so forcefully, it would end up on the floor, This feature works well, although the tray, when extended does take up even more room. What is not working as well is the evenness of the toasting. The edges of the bread get darker than the center and one side seems to get darker than the other. It is difficult to push down the lever, but you don't have to push it down the entire height of the toaster. Also, a few seconds after the toast comes out the inside rack returns to it's starting position and makes a loud noise. Not a terrible thing, but annoying. Still, it's fun to see the toast sailing out onto the tray and I have not had any problem with it ending up on the counter or floor. I have not tried the bagle or gluten options. So far, I like this toaster but I don't know if over time I will learn to love it or hate it! And it seems really silly to be so picky about something that certainly does the job well enough. ... show more

Returning. 6 is a fire hazard The handle is very hard to push down but I think that has to do with the spring mechanism they needed to use for the drop down door. But what’s actually dangerous about it is that level six burns bread so bad that it will catch fire. I even had a press cancel and both sides were black and smoke was coming out of the toaster. I love how thin this is but not if it’s going to catch my house on fire Also it’s hard to clean the crumbs out of where they fall when you close the tray back up. Every time you put it away you’re gonna have crumbs falling. I cooked a butt end of some bread on the latest setting and for some reason it wouldn’t fall through even though it wasn’t stuck. ... show more
