UPDATE: After dealing with Lola's customer service team I wanted to come back and change my rating from 2 stars to 4. After telling them about the grounds from the initial order, they said it was probably due to a production error and offered to send a replacement. I received the replacement super quick and the grounds were perfect! I used to love this coffee, but sadly I don't think I'll be buying it again due to the change they've made with their grounds. They use to have a fine grind that produced a rich looking coffee with a great taste. Now, the grounds are very coarse and the water seems to run straight through and produces a gross, dirty looking water with very little taste. I've attached a couple of pictures to show the difference in the grounds.

One thing to know about this coffee is that it is a LIGHT ROAST COFFEE, AND light roast coffees have more caffeine than any other coffee's as the cafeone is not baked out of them. If you don't believe me try researching coffee roasting do's & dont's facts. You will find I just happen to be telling you all the true facts. Being light roast the coffee is going to be lighter as it is not burnt. It also wont have the bitter dark roast taste that comes with BURNT coffee. A simple way to make good coffee is said to be 2 table spoons of ground coffee to 6 ounces of water. However, I use a level regular teaspoon per cup and let mine sit fot 10 min., everyone is different on their taste so find YOUR JUST RIGHT MIXTURE. Also, the cleanliness of your pot, your water purity and temperature all matter highly in the tasye you will get. My press is always cleaned between storms (Or pots if you will), I use water from our reverse ozmosis at 197 degrees in a stainless steel pot. Leave the top off and cover with a cozi to keep water hot and able to breath, depending on how you like your coffee plunge between 4 to 10 min. Leaving the top off was a big surprise to me, it really allowed the subtle flavors to show them selves. So as i started to say; I'm not sure what people are doing to make this wonderful coffee bad???? I have used a Mr. Coffee burr grinder on it's coarsest grind and used it in my stainless steel french press and everyone that has tried it calls it a wonderful desert coffee it tastes so good. I recently had the joy of my daughter and her family come up to Michigan and stay a week in our camp/travel trailor and introduced them to Lola Savanna Pecan Maple Nut coffee. To my suprise, on their return home, they purchased all the same equip. My wife and I have then purchased several types of beans from Lola Savanna including pecan maple nut and are loving it. I guess thats why I was unable to get my subscription of lola savanna pecan maple nut decafe this month! Yes I told her she owes me for that :).

Delicious, smooth, medium bodied coffee. Great flavor and smell. I was looking for a substitute for HEBs Texas pecan flavor as we live out of state now. I don’t remember exactly what the HEB one tastes like because it’s been so long but this is certainly delicious.

I know it’s my fault for not reading more carefully, but there is nothing on the front of the bag that says it is coffee. I needed pecans for Christmas pecan pies. I ordered quickly without much research. I based it on the front packaging. It was Christmas morning. I used the last of my pecans and pulled out the new bag I ordered from Amazon. To my amazement it was ground coffee. I was in total disbelief. Dumped pies, took the ground coffee and dumped it on my roses because I’ve heard coffee grounds are good for roses. We’ll see next spring. Please make sure you know you are ordering two pounds of coffee that smells awful.

I have ordered from Lola Savannah several times I have had issues with a hazelnut cream and the triple vanilla both being stale dry no aroma beans. I have had success with the Hawaiian hazelnut, aroma is awesome, beans are dark and have a nice shiny coating .When I put them in the coffee grinder it puts off a fabulous aroma opening the bag you can smell the aroma. I just don’t like the inconsistency of the product. I feel like the beans aren’t being inspected and despite it saying that the expiration date is a year out or at least till July 2021. The complaints are on receiving dry no taste no flavor non-aroma beans that just look like they are not quality beings that give a quality taste! Now I rave about the Hawaiian hazelnut and will continue to buy that and I hope I don’t have to receive any old beans because I truly enjoy the Hawaiian hazelnut decaf and will be finding out about the regular here shortly

My mom is 83 years old. This is all the kind of coffee she makes and use to get it at H‑E‑B. Since the pandemic she has wanted me to order from Amazon. She does not get out anymore. At first she would get it next day and it was great. Now it is arriving later, the ground coffee is ground so fine it is nothing but powder. She has even ordered the bean. There is absolutely no aroma through out her house anymore of the famous Texas Pecan smell and it doesn’t even taste like it. Not only that the price has gone up tremendously. She doesn’t understand what happened but she may have to make a change. It really doesn’t even deserve the one star. So why is it different? What changed. The whole bean is not the same anymore either. Thank you.

We have been drinking this coffee since we found it at the Central Market in Texas many years ago. We were elated when Amazon started carrying “our coffee.” This coffee has a full bodied flavor with a distinct taste of Pecans. We purchase the ground coffee as we are impatient to enjoy that first cup in the morning. We keep this coffee in our freezer when we overbuy and the same great taste is retained when we brew the next pot. Lola Savannah coffees are second to none and make that morning cup of coffee a very pleasurable experience! I can’t even imagine ever buying another brand.
