  • 🏴🏴🏴 a WoRKHoRSe oF a GRiDDLe 🏴🏴🏴
Style: Griddle Size: 17.3" x 11" x 1.8"
If you don’t already own this cast iron griddle, you are seriously missing out. This has quickly become one of my most-used pans in the kitchen—and for good reason. The flat, square surface gives you plenty of space to work with. I’m talking pancakes, grilled cheese, French toast, quesadillas, seared salmon, smash burgers—you name it, this griddle handles it all like a pro! And those raised edges? Perfect for keeping grease or toppings from sliding off. Heat retention? PHENOMENAL! Once it gets hot, it STAYs hot—and cooks evenly, which means beautifully golden crusts and sears every single time. It’s heavy-duty, durable, and honestly feels like something I’ll pass down one day. That’s how solid it is. And because it’s Lodge, it comes pre-seasoned and ready to go (But I suggest washing and oiling and baking it. I’ll give instructions at the end if you’re interested.). The more I use it, the better it gets. I LOVE that old-school cast iron magic. Oh—and it looks great on my stove! It’s rustic, classic, and seriously chef vibes. 10 out of 10, I definitely recommend to anyone who loves to cook with style, soul, and serious performance. PRO TIP:: Give it a little extra oiling and bake it a few times when you first get it though (if interested, I’ll tell you how below) — you’ll fall in love with the results. Use an oil with a high smoke point and that forms a good layer of seasoning, like canola oil, Crisco (vegetable shortening), or grapeseed oil. I’ve used vegetable oil too. Avocado oil, I think can be used too, but don’t quote me on that particular one as I’ve never used it. But if I take a guess, I THINK it can be. But the FIRST thing you do even before oiling it and baking it is wash it thoroughly as soon as you get it with a teeny-tiny bit of soap and hot water, EVEN IF IT SAYS IT IS PRESEASONED! But ONLY DO THIS ONCE! After this first wash, you won’t have to use soap ever again! This is to remove any of the factory residue. But you are then to dry the pan completely. Then with a think layer of oil (I pour a bit on the pan and then take a paper towel and wipe it completely with oil in all of the nooks and crannies inside and out and the handle with an even coat of whatever oil you choose to use. Place it upside down on your top oven rack and put a baking sheet (or if you want to line the bottom rack with foil you can do that instead of the baking sheet) on the bottom rack to catch the excess oil that drips off the pan. Bake this @ 450 degrees for 45 minutes to an hour. Then turn the oven off and let it cool completely inside the oven to allow the oil to set. Now, for a smoother, non-stick finish, it’s BEST to repeat this process 2 or 3 times, BUT you don’t have to. I like to though, but who knows…maybe it’s because I’m extra. Then, BOOM! Your brand new cast iron is ready to make some magic happen!! Enjoy!! ... show more

  • Excellent Heavy-Duty Cast Iron Pan
Style: Griddle Size: 17.3" x 11" x 1.8"
This seasoned cast-iron square pan is fantastic. It’s very heavy duty and feels like it will last forever. The preseasoning on it was excellent right out of the box, and food cooks beautifully in it. I use this pan at least twice a week and am so glad I decided to get it. Definitely a great addition to my kitchen! ... show more

  • Classic Lodge Quality
Style: Griddle Size: 17.3" x 11" x 1.8"
You really can’t go wrong with Lodge. This cast iron griddle is solid, reliable, and does exactly what you need it to do. It heats evenly and holds that heat incredibly well, making it perfect for pancakes, grilled sandwiches, or searing meats. Even though it comes “pre-seasoned,” I highly recommend giving it a proper seasoning yourself before the first use. That extra step makes a big difference in preventing food from sticking and helps build up a better nonstick surface over time. Also, if you plan on using this on the stovetop often, I strongly suggest picking up the Lodge silicone handle grip. The handle gets really hot, and the grip makes it way easier (and safer) to move around. Great product, built to last—as long as you treat it right. ... show more

  • Good flat top for grilling meat.
Style: Griddle Size: 17.3" x 11" x 1.8"
This is a handy, but heavy griddle. I use it for hamburgers, steaks and chops. One may heat it hotter than most pans and it makes a good sear. It does smoke when in use if not fully covered in food. Cleaning is as it is with any other cast iron pan. One learns the warmer and cooler spots on the pan, it has not warped. ... show more

  • GREAT LODGE QUALITY
Style: Griddle Size: 17.3" x 11" x 1.8"
You CANNOT go wrong with any Lodge product. Arrived promptly. Very heavy as one would expect with a Lodge product. Even though this has been cured at the factory it is advised to season it again once or twice. I did just that 2 times. I am using this on a brand new induction stove, so have placed a silicone pad under the griddle to prevent any scratching etc. As with all Lodge products you need not use a very high setting to get it hot. Once it is hot enough you can turn down the heat. I bought the silicone handle protector which is important since the handle gets as hot as the griddle. ... show more

  • Easier and better than I had hoped for.
Style: Griddle Size: 17.3" x 11" x 1.8"
My grandmother cooked with cast iron over gas flame for decades. She was not the most careful, but she got by. I thought cast iron worked only over open flame, but ... I was looking for something that would not warp. My other griddles and large skillets eventually warped into a cone, rocking back and forth. At first I thought this was because I was using an electric glass flat top stove. I finally decided to give cast iron a chance. First off, there is a lot of black magic associated with treating cast iron. I bought the Lodge griddle and after removing the sticker, rinsed it and cooked fried eggs. Well, there is a learning curve, but 1) I need to use lower heat than usual, and 2) I had no troubleflipping the eggs. 3) I used a metal spatula and it did not scratch. So far, so good. It cleaned up quite easily (I recommend the chain mail scrubber, wish I could use it on everything). Since then, I have cooked, fried, etc. everything I needed a flat griddle for and It has worked marvelously. No voodoo, just clean it up, oil it (I use canola because it's what I've got) wipe it off. At worse, you'll do no worse than you'd with anything else when new. At best, I think this will out last my last several griddles. ... show more

  • Built Like a Tank - And Yes, You Can Use Soap!! Built Like a Tank - And Yes, You Can Use Soap!!
Style: Griddle Size: 17.3" x 11" x 1.8"
🍳 Performance & Cooking • Heat Distribution: I’ve had this square griddle for about 6 months now, and it’s become my go-to for Saturday morning pancakes and grilled cheese. It holds heat incredibly well and provides that perfect, even browning you just can't get with non-stick pans. • The Shape: The square design is much more efficient than a round pan for bacon or multiple sandwiches—you really maximize every inch of the burner. 🧼 The "Soap" Myth & Maintenance • Durability: This pan is holding up perfectly. Despite what the "purists" say, I have actually washed this with a little mild dish soap when it gets particularly greasy. • The Secret: As long as you dry it immediately on the stove and rub in a tiny bit of oil afterward, the seasoning stays rock solid. It hasn't rusted or lost its "non-stick" quality at all. 🛠️ Build Quality • Lodge Reliability: It’s heavy, sturdy, and clearly built to last a lifetime. The handle is a bit short (standard for this model), so I definitely recommend using a silicone handle holder or a good oven mitt. ⚖️ Final Verdict • Pros: Unbeatable durability, great for bacon/pancakes, easy to maintain once you know the "dry & oil" trick. • Cons: It’s heavy! (But that’s cast iron for you). • Bottom Line: Don't be afraid of the maintenance. It’s a workhorse that only gets better the more you use it. ... show more
