With 4 Oz diamond jig for BlueFish this rod will cast very long distance. If coupled with spinning reels that are for surf in 5000-6000 range is perfect. I used the pendulum cast with absolute 100% all in power and the rod did not brake. Did it so many times to reach BlueFish that my index finger on the line start to hurt, so i had to go all in pro mode with index finger protection designed for casting and the rod even at that level performed very well. I cannot tell you how many rods i snapped in pieces under that brutal pendulum cast. This rod not only survived that day, buy every single day after that under absolute brutal surf usage. When hooking a fish, it is very sensitive. I did not had any mercy on using that bend in the rod, and yet again, those 10-12 lbs BlueFish and Jacks came in like they were hooked on a crane. For the money spent, and the performance that this rod offered so far, i cannot think a better rod that money can buy regardless of the known and unknown brand. This comes from someone with over 20 years experience in the surf owning a forest of rods and reels in its arsenal (yes, including those $500 sticks) - i kid you not.

It needs a bigger reel seat. My Penn 5000 doesn’t fit it very well. But other than that this rod performs beautifully. Slings a 3oz spoon like a dream.

This is a very nice rod, it's light weight, comes apart, and seems pretty sturdy. Time will tell on the sturdiness part, but so far so good. The lightness has the cast feel rather smooth and effortless. Fair price as compared to others'.

I now own 2 LITTMA surf rods....I already had an 11 FT and I was looking to get something a little smaller and end up choosing this 9 FT. While the 9 FT is not has heavily constructed, it's definitely going to hold up well. I lose a little casting distance when moving from an 11 FT to an 9 FT but I can still sling it pretty far with this pole. I do find that the fishing rod, from top to bottom is well constructed. I really like the handle/grip area and found it to be very comfortable. I am still trying to transition from fishing in the Midwest to the Gulf Coast, so this fishing rod is a step in the right direction. I had never heard of this brand before I ordered the first pole, but glad I took a chance. This surf rod is definitely a good addition to my fishing gear!

This is one handsome 2 piece surf rod. It is all black with like a snake skin design on the top section and shiny black bottom half with a crosshatch pattern on the hard foam handle. It also has Fuji guides and reel seat that should give it some longevity. It has medium fast action and takes 20 to 40 lb. braid and up to a 4 oz. lure. I have used this 2 piece 9 footer a few times in the Gulf surf with no issues and no sign of wear so far. It casts very well with 20 lb. braid and numerous different weight lures. It also fished bait on pompano rigs with 3 and 4 oz. pyramid and sputnick sinkers with ease. I really hope this Littma surf rod holds up as well as it should with its quality components and attention to detail. For a quality surf rod in this price range I believe it to be an absolute bargain!

This review is for the LITTMA 9 foot medium heavy surf rod which cost $69.99 at the time of this review. It is a great surf rod for the price with nice Fuji guides and reel seat, and a quality blank. Casting distance doesn't quite match my $200 surf rods. Casting distance seems to be 5-10% less than the more expensive rods but considering the LITTMA costs about 1/3rd the price, I am impressed with its performance. One of the other reviewers complained about the reel seat being short and not fitting his reels. I've put 5000 and 6000 size spinning reels on this rod, and they fit fine. I guess if you use really large spinning reels, like 8000 and up, this rod might not work for you.
