I literally just opened this an hour ago, but I already like it a lot more than my old incubator. The one I had was plastic & more expensive & had an automatic egg turner but it was HORRIBLE. Could never keep a steady temperature so I had to crack the lid, didn't read an accurate temperature ever, & was SO LOUD. This one is nearly silent even with the extra muffin fan I added inside & it’s already up to temperature! Plus the temperature settings & screen are much easier to use & read. I’ll post an update in a while regarding the accuracy of the temperature etc. but so far this has been a great purchase & worth the money! Update to say that this thing is phenomenal! The thermometer consistently within 0.5° of the actual temperature & it maintains it beautifully. Temperatures vary a bit in different locations & heights, but not by more than 1°. Incredible for any incubator, especially at this price. Again, I put a little muffin fan in there to help keep the temperatures even throughout the interior & that’s definitely helping a lot (& you can stick the cord through the slot for the egg turner cord so you can still get an airtight fit). I absolutely recommend this!

This incubator is the best, temp and humidity are so easy to regulate. I had a plastic one, but it was almost impossible to keep humidity and temp. Regulated.

Edit: all 29 of my bearded dragon eggs did not make it. Not only was it heart breaking but was also a loss of thousands of dollars in animals. Please do not use this for any animal eggs. I used this incubator for the first time this month. I set up the incubator one week ago to test everything out. It ran good for a few days then all of the sudden the temp gage started to read 105f and two other probes read 75f. A total waste of money. I could have lost a whole clutch of bearded dragon eggs had I not paid extra attention. I ended up using a UTH and a thermostat. I could have saved money and just bought a styrofoam cooler and made my own. Just an expensive version of the homemade I had to make last minute.

My advice is get this incubator if its on sale for around $40 and add a small bakery fan for $16 and then its a great incubator. Heres why: I was new to incubating eggs and wanted to try it out with my young kids this summer. I am very type A and read everything and checked on the eggs we put in basically every hour for the first few days. Come to find out the temperature in a still air incubator fluctuates dramatically from center to outside and from top to bottom. I had readings of 104 degrees ontop of the eggs, but 95 degrees on the bottom of them! I lost 2 batches of eggs that wouldnt grow. I then bought a digital thermometer (like for telling you outside/inside temps) and put it into the incubator. It had been running at 95 degrees all along! Ugh! So my first word of advice is to invest in a second thermometer and adjust the temperature so that the new thermometer reads 99.5 for example (for chickens) Then even with that, there was still the different layering of heat in the still air, this would make some spots 106 and others 99 in the incubator, bad news for the eggs in hot bubbles! So instead of paying $45 for the incubator fan attachment, I purchased a $16 bakery muffin cooling fan that has a regular outlet plug. I put it in the corner of the incubator and it runs 24/7 pushing the air around so there are no more hot spots! It works amazing and its fairly quiet too! I did not have to cut a spot in the incubator out for the cord either, it fits flat enough to still seal without issues in my opinion. Since doing that the temp reading on the incubators thermom AND my added thermom read nearly the same in all spots of the incubator and I dont have to worry about checking it so much, its been great! The new batch of eggs have been growing and are on day 14 now, so out of 20 eggs put in this time 18 have grown! I hope this review helps someone else new to incubating and saves the expensive eggs and heartache and time. I give it a 4 star because it seems to have a good heating element and I like the size for the price, but it needs to have forced air to work properly, and you NEED to have another thermom in there to know the real temp.

I was skeptical when I purchase this incubator but... I start it 24 hr. before I place the eggs inside, and i play little bit with the temperature and I place $7.00 thermostat inside too and I set the incubator @101.5 with the thermostat inside @99.5 and is working just fine. If you want to have a stabile humidity @ the beginning put just few drops of water inside that is all you nee, and when is lockdown add little bit of water on both sides of the incubator not very much and it will go up to 65% humidity and it stays stable. Holds its temperature but have different one in different spots, so I put 5 eggs as a ring in the middle of it ant put thermostat probe on them. (Be careful to not forget to place it in the same spot after turning the eggs or the temperature can get higher over the eggs cause the thermostat got in a cold spot and warming it up.) Put a dishtowel under the eggs and made sort of a nest around them - helps to prevent them to roll away from their spot when you turning them. The humidity meter is not reliable - needed to put another one into incubator. The temperature needed to be adjust 1 degree higher - got late hatchers (23+ days). Unfortunately intervened at the day 23 and lost all of my first hatch (began to open the eggs thinking that they are dead and maybe getting spoiled - needed to do a float test instead). I got 2 eggs which embryos died on a first stage of development (maybe I kept them too long before incubation.) 1 egg had almost fully developed chick but it was dead. 1 egg has a peep on it but no sounds or moving - didn't hatch - might be due to low humidity (let it fall till 40% but should be 60% while hatching) 1 egg I began to brake where it has its air chamber but noticed moving in it and placed back in the incubator - the chick died. Noticed that 2 eggs on which was thermostat probe end got fully developed chicks inside (unfortunately didn't hatch due to my mistakes). The egg nearby had underdeveloped chick - got in colder spot, probably. So, the incubator IS working, just need to learn how to properly use it (getting right temp and humidity). Next time will adjust the temp higher (101F instead of 99.5F) and humidity to 50% (to 60% for the last 3 days) and will do the float test for late hatching eggs and maybe will move eggs around during turning to equalize their temperature. UPDATE: 2nd try: got 5 chicks out of 8 eggs. 3 eggs didn't developed - was a short temp jump on the 12th day (don't know why). Eggs were hatching 4 days - 12-24 hours apart. Next time will add a fan. Hope it will help to get all the eggs hatching at the same time. Tips: - Temperature 100.2-100.5F - Humidity: 50+, (60+ for the last 3 days.) - Eggs arranged in a circle with 2 in the middle. Every time you turn the eggs swap the middle ones with the neighbors.(Put the numbers on the eggs to know which turn is to go in the middle) - Put eggs on a towel like in the nest so they will not roll freely when you trying to turn them. - Turn the eggs an odd number of times (3, 5), so every night there is different side of the egg facing up. - Have a separate thermometer and humidity meter in the incubator. Check the temperature and humidity frequently, readjust if necessary. - During the hatching fix the thermostat probe in one place by putting weight on it so the baby chicks will not push it around and mess up the temperature. Adjust the temperature using other thermometer inside. (I put it in the corner, set temp to 92-94F which gives 100.2F in the center). - During the hatching put a wet rug in the incubator. - Every time you open the incubator during the hatching put a wet (warm water) paper towel in it to prevent drop in humidity. - Put the already dried chicks in the brooder or they'll can harass those who's hatching.

My incubator came today and I'm super excited., This is by far the most beautifulest incubator I've ever seen as soon as i plugged it in, it automatically set the tempature for me, there was no adjusting anything, and it has lights so I can read it in the dark even... the viewing windows are large so we can see through without disturbing the babies. If your looking for something to hatch eggs this is a must buy! It's the cheapest of all and very fancy.. It's absolutely perfect!! We can't wait to put our babies in it. 😍
