  • Best ladder ever! Weight not bad on 22ft
Size: 22 Ft. Style: Standard Pattern Name: No Accessory
I researched the heck out of these ladders before i decided which to buy. The consensus out there is that little giant is overpriced and Werner etc are just as good. Now that I've had this ladder for several months, if it got stolen tomorrow I would immediately order the exact same one without the slightest hesitation. I would not even consider the Werner or any others, even at half the price. The reason? The latches and hinges! Absolutely worth the extra money, omg! It makes it so much easier to work with. Comparisons aside, I freakin' LOVE this ladder. I bought the 5 step 22ft version despite many qualms about extra weight, and I'm glad I did. Honestly this ladder is not difficult to handle. I'm a 5'7" 155lb out of shape nerd who by no means handles these things all the time - but I find it easier to handle than a normal 6ft fiberglass ladder. It's shorter than a normal 6ft ladder, which makes it easier to maneuver without hitting the tops of door frames and turning it around tight corners. As far as picking it up, just bend down slightly and put your arm through whichever step it's near so that your shoulder bears the entire weight and your arms are just to guide it, then lift slightly with your legs and you're off! I can carry it around that for 10 minutes straight without problem. Once it's set up, to move it just stand underneath it and put a hand on each side then lift, walk it to where it needs to be - easy! The extra weight, of the ladder in general as well as with the 22ft over the 17ft version, has not been nearly the issue I worried it would be. Another huge benefit of this ladder is stability. Omg it's stable. This has revolutionized my laddering - I regularly make stretches on this that would be suicidal on a normal ladder, but feel totally fine on this - and I don't like heights either mind you. All in all this is one of those purchases I've made that just FEEL so good because even with doubts despite all the research it's turned out to be completely justified and totally worth it! If you're buying a ladder, seriously just get this. If you really can't afford it then get the Werner at least, but if you can eat hot dogs for the last week of the month or whatever to stretch the budget and afford this, I'd do it again. ... show more

  • The brittleness caused the box handling/lift handles to rip/tear through since the material is a poor application for the function required
Size: 26 Ft. Style: Standard with Ratchet Levelers Pattern Name: No Accessory
So, I took the plunge and bought this 26' Little Giant Ladder with the ratchet extensions, since I live in Breckenridge, CO, right on a mountain-side. The slopes on each home lot here is different and complex. So, the extensions on each leg would be handy. $550.00 - don't be afraid of the price - if it's your business, this is a total write-off this year. I was up on the ladder, full extensions deployed, painting the top roof-line facia of the front of my home. This ladder is 300 lb. rated. I had no issues climbing up the ladder and staying there for about an hour, over 30' in the air. I have a fear of heights, so this was significant for me - I did NOT have any such dizziness, fear or anything - just doing the job. The ladder was delivered via UPS. It was shipped from China in that sort of light brown/yellow cardboard that is brittle, compared to other tri-wall cardboard. The brittleness caused the box handling/lift handles to rip/tear through since the material is a poor application for the function required. Every single handle hole/slot was torn clean off. The bottom ratchet covers are anodized orange aluminum - a nice touch. However, mine were scratched with deep gashes from the shipping "journey" from China. Since they are a solid aluminum shell made of thick material, I am not worried about function at all. It just reinforces the point of poor choice for "package and protect" of the product. The ladder is designed well, rugged and will last. Just fix the shipping containers, guys. ... show more

  • Unsafe, poor construction
Size: 26 Ft. Style: Standard Pattern Name: No Accessory
UNSAFE ... This ladder broke after just 3 months of use under normal conditions and NO abuse. Bottom rung broke off completely, welds failed on the right side when setting the feet of ladder before climbing to clean gutters. Company wants YOU to pay to mail back for repair and pay for return back to you after repair/ pe placement? $400 ladder, this should not be happening. I have older model little giant ladders and they are great, but this model is a hazard. DO NOT BUY!!! ... show more

  • Godd product, not perfect
Size: 22 Ft. Style: Standard Pattern Name: No Accessory
We've found this ladder works best as a standard folding ladder - and it is especially good at work in stairways. As an extension ladder it is too heavy and difficult to adjust length once it is leaning up against a building. It also has a lot of pinch points so be careful. If you're using this as an extension ladder and have it stretched out full length - it is wobbly as heck too. Don't like it for that application. The other problem is using it around scaffolds or air compressor / paint sprayer hoses. This thing has bumps and "rock lockers" that are magnets for getting caught on a scaffold, or will, get any hose trapped and kinked. Every dammed time you go to move a hose, it gets trapped somewhere on this ladder. Makes you want to toss it in the dump some days. Then on another day it works very well in a stairwell when nothing else will do.. When using this outside, it would be essential to get the leveling legs. We're really regretting not getting built-in leveling legs - on the other hand that feature makes it even more heavy. Good product but it is definitely has some issues to think about. If you need a straight extension ladder, I would definitely get that instead. As a basic folding ladder it is pretty good, but not perfect. ... show more
